Shuddering / binding while turning (not in 4wd)

I just moved my truck from the street to the driveway and while I was backing up noticed a good deal of shuddering / shaking / binding while my steering wheel was turned almost all the way to the left. I don’t think it did this when I was turned right. I am not in 4wd. Any thoughts?

 

Jack up the front end and try to rotate each front wheel independently.

Are the brakes dragging?
Is a CV axle broken?
etc.

 

New calipers and cv axles 6 months ago

changed diff fluids and transfer case too

 

Have you had it in 4WD recently?

 

No sir, maybe a fluke I’ll monitor the situation

 

OEM components, or 3rd party? Could be a failed CV.

Parking brake frozen?

 

Hmmmmm don’t think so it’s been in the 40s all day today

 

Does it do it driving forward?

 

Sometimes the road salt and water can cause the parking brake to lock up.

Try driving in a straight line in forward and reverse and see if that helps.

Hopefully it's something simple

 

I took it for a test spin just now and it shuddered a bit while pulling forward and turning left out of the driveway. Went to a parking lot, forward, reverse , left and right seemed ok. Fluke?

 

Tires rubbing? Have you recently put on a lift, larger tires, or had an alignment?

 

What year is your truck? Does it have an LSD? You can feel that when you turn sharp more so on snow or ice.
