Thank you for this info. I’m wanting the rack cut for sure. My friend didn’t have access to water jet which is why it was going to be done differently. I was going to pay him a fair price and not just take advantage of my friendship.

that being said yes I’m serious about having the rack done. Like I said on the last post though I think I’m going to go a different direction with the tailgate.

    thanks again!

I’m looking for something similar. Need to build a rear bumper and have some files for the frame plates I need zip zapped. Let me know if you find anything. Going to check with Bridge City Steel tomorrow.

    Hey PNW!

I was talking to @INSAYN about my truck and mentioned that he'd heard of beer and pizza days where guys get together at someone's house, hopefully with a lift, and work on a project with the project truck's owner paying for beer and pizza. I don't have a driveway (or a lift) and was hoping to replace my flywheel–it has a bad ring gear (and possibly the clutch, etc.) and replace the seal between my transmission and my marlin tacobox (they seem to be swapping oil). Anybody know of someone with a lift? I'm buying beer and pizza...

I'm a CNC programmer/Machinist. I might be able to help you out depending on size of the parts. Is the rack a plate style like prinsu?

    Hey Dan,

Thanks for the reply. Mike over at Gearhead Garage is great. And that’s definitely an option. But of course I was hoping that someone might have a lift I can rent for beer and Pizza and then bring an army of TW backyard mechanics to help. :D

You know I'm in to help if a shop pops up, or if Gearhead Garage ends up being the spot. Maybe a few more guys here would be available to come help turn wrenches and Get R Done in one day.

Thanks, @INSAYN! Any other takers? Someone must have a lift? I think if we do it at Gearhead Garage, Mike probably won’t be too jazzed about us drinking beer, but the pizza can flow like wine.

Had to sell my 17 Tacoma for a tow rig in order to pull my new home. Still here for a bit to keep in touch.
I could be available as a helping hand. Mod days sounds like fun. And you know... I love free pizza and beer!

Sweet, thanks @NW-Taco, we just need to find someone with a lift and people can wrench with beer in hand (as mentioned above, pretty sure Gearhead Garage won't let us do that). :)

I’ll try and see how our shop feels about something like that, but it’ll have to be awhile until that’s an option. 3 lifts wouldn’t suck...

@lightnfast, you're saying your shop might let us come in on a weekend or other off hour and you have 3 lifts available? That would be sweet!... (we might have to sign waivers)

Well usual disclaimers apply so no promises but I’ll at least make the effort and ask. Crazier things have happened.

And yet you’ll never find a 12mm combination wrench when needed. Or the stereotypical “missing” 10mm socket.

So what's the local consensus on getting rid of TRD OR stock suspension with 40k miles?

Is it worth trying to sell it? I don't know if I'm too interested in storing it.

I’ve been trying to sell my 2019 take off with 11k on it and have not sold it yet. Been listing for almost a month I think. I have dropped the price from $300 down to $225 and that includes UCAs and rear leafs.
I thought I could get rid of mine quick. Not so much.

Yeah, I put up a thread for it, but looks like it's going in the scrap metal pile.

I did see something somewhere about someone making knives out of leaf packs, but the last thing I need is a new hobby.

I'll bet the gambler 500 community is interested, maybe I'll give it away there.

Might be able to get something if you post them cheap enough? Just depends.
I have the space for now and am not in a hurry.
