There is no manual specific setup. The same harness works for both.

I believe the only difference is you get a visor card that is specific for your transmission, but the wiring harness itself is the same regardless of transmission. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Long story short I had a diesel and towed a car trailer regularly. Bought the tacoma and it just did not perform as expected so I am Getting another fullsize.

Well in my defense my race car is pretty light and it's well within the tacoma capacity. It just isn't a comfortable tow. It requires alot of effort. Ill ship to Canada. Shoot me a message and we can get it sorted.

Hah! All about perspective. I too bought my Tacoma also specifically to tow my race car. The car's only 850lbs and it's on a trailer that's pretty light, and I'm surprised at how slow the tacoma is uphill. But since I upgraded from pulling the race car with an FJ60, I'm happy because the Tacoma is so much better at this than the FJ60 was. And I'm going to do anything I can to avoid owning/driving a giant truck--like this 2WL mod. I have to wonder how much of the clutch I destroyed the first time I backed the race car/trailer combo into my driveway--I had no idea I could make a clutch smell *that* bad.

I have got the clutch smoking several times. It's bad. It doesn't really take much. The gearing needs to be much lower in 1st and 2nd. My total weight was 10k truck and trailer/car. It was rough.

The 2lo switch has been a lifesaver for me. was hauling a double axle box trailer for a while loaded with appliances and furniture. I think the forward gearing is all right, but OVTune definitely helps with the engine response there.
