So guys i towed a camper for the first time yesterday around 5600 lbs on my last stretch of the trip i was turning onto a road and got two messages on my dash I’m looking for anyone who has had this issue or knows what it could be caused by just wanting to make sure I’m not damaging anything and i don’t want this message to pop up everytime i tow.

Just a guess, if your Tacoma starts to sag in the back axle, the front radar and camera isn’t pointed at the road any more but straight forward and maybe the truck can’t detect a road or something.

Did you hit anything... like a pot hole or curb.
The top one typically occurs when the alignment is knocked out of whack and the bottom pic is your pre collision brakes/nose sensor

Most likely you went through a dip, driveway and have a lot of tongue weight which raised the front end. In turn, it made sensors mad

10-4 there was a dip in the road where i turned (enough that water always collects there) so maybe this is what caused it. Think i will have this issue everytime i tow some people say I’m crazy for hauling this kind of weight with my tacoma

I once got those after towing my camper down 20 miles of washboard dirt. The constant rattling and dust really pissed off the truck. Everything went back to normal once I got on pavement though. Well sort of normal. I had to clean my countertops and pick up the silverware that had somehow managed to leave one drawer and get into another.

How was the weather? Snowy, rainy? If it happens a second time without cause, that's when I'd be concerned. If it goes away and doesn't repeat, might have been just a random gremlin.

Traction control will not kick in

Weird that it isn't going away on its own. Did you say you went through a puddle? I wonder if one of your wheel sensors is malfunctioning.

Try disconnecting the batter for about 20 minutes.

Thought about doing this but wondered if there was some type of real issue would the dealer be able to tell me what made the codes come up what you think?

Problem not, most of the dealer techs seem clueless when it comes to this truck.

I’ve heard of the rear sensors freaking out while towing but why is the front angry? And VSC is one of the thing I would want functioning while towing.

Our 2017 doesn’t have TSS and has never had an issue pulling 4800lbs around..

Well that’s reassuring.... i just don’t want to have something wrong or have messed somethin up and not know about it ya know? Truck seems to drive fine no issues other than those two things being disabled.

I'm speculating coincidence. Too much weight will cause wear and tear on some parts, sure. Mostly the rating is there to make sure you can safely accelerate, turn, and stop. I wouldn't think it would knock out your sensor network though.
