Got dumped on pretty good by me. But didn’t seem to be much 15 miles west. But I was traveling from Des Moines on 80 until Iowa city, and wasn’t much until close to Dubuque. So didn’t know if you got more north of there or where it started

It was a lot of rain here that turned to sleet and eventfully some snow. Some of it melted yesterday too.

@Shellshock what exactly can you do with the OV tune.. are you able to remove codes from the ECU? Asking because ive been really thinking about doing a FKS engine swap in a MR2. unless i decide to go with the FE. just curious. its proven to be very difficult to physically modify the ECU like the older FE engines

There’s a lot of stuff you can do, but it would depend on the ecu. In general, I believe the only codes that can be suppressed are related to removal of cats. In the 3.5 Tacoma ECU there is an incredible number of tables and unnecessarily complex ecu logic.

hmm. interesting. the older style ecu you had to physically modify the ecu to remove alot of code. wouldn't surprise me if the fks ecus are the same. I'd need to have all codes related to Evap system, automatic transmission (Taco manual ecu would get rid of that issue) and the cats

Why not just boost the piss out of a 3S-GTE? I've seen plenty of those making well over 500 HP.

V6 mr2 is a bit cheaper to do than a built 3s these days. Plus I just love the sound of Toyota 3.5l

I can't argue with that. The IS I test drove a few years back did have a nice note. Are you going to boost it?

I love MR2's! Had an '87 with leaky T-tops. Still a blast to drive, even with a little 1.6 liter screamer. T-VIS was a neat innovation on those.

I’ve been hunting for a rust free non turbo for years now. Plan is to do a 3.5 with a Scion TC 6 speed manual.

1995 is the year I want most, but 93 is the easiest wiring wise. The swaps actually pretty trivial for the older 3.5 and using the stock mr2 trans. Fks is bolt in too, but wiring is the big unknown and ecu tuning

Good video! I have only used mine a few times. I pretty much engage it once I'm stuck.
