Installing the Wheelers progressive 3 leaf AAL soon. Hard to tell in pic but currently rocking a lean.

I got the truck back on four wheels today. Pin back in the leaf springs so they are all put back together. The U-bolts and brake drum from the burned donor truck cleaned up good, although the drum was a bitch to get off and needed a light turn.
But... as with all days when you think you've got it licked, once the wheel was back on it wouldn't spin.
I'll be taking the wheel and drum off tomorrow to see WTH.

Today I checked the trucks mpg and I regretted that decision. 10.2

A repost of my fav pic of my truck.
    20201120_105256.jpg

I had PowerStop rotors and proprietary pads on my 1st gen. I towed boats with that truck. I never had a problem with those drilled and slotted rotors and pads. Quite, minimal dust, and it stopped better than stock.

For this 2nd gen of mine it has larger 4Runner rotors, calipers, and super cheap Chinese pads. Lol. Works outstanding.

    X2!

Did you have a dealer or shop install the katzkin for you? Or did you do it yourself?

My wheels have two valve stems and this morning I started the journey of installing powertank monster valves in place of one of them. With powertank (co2) the choke point of airing up and down is the stock valve stem. They created a mega high flow one to fix that. I can air down in less than 20 seconds and airing up is about the same, 25 seconds. Pretty wild. This is with a 35” tire.

Reinstalled my Pedal Commander today, because I just can't deal with the factory mushy pedal, and I don't want to drive around in 4 all of the time either. I removed the leaf-spring U-bolt clamps I put on last week because they didn't help with vibrations at all, just stiffened up the ride quality which I didn't like. I also ordered a set of SDHQ A-pillar mounts and a set of Baja Design S2 wide-cornering pods to set up for ditch lights.

Blacked out the side mirrors, changed chrome door handles, and got new wheels. First bit of modification I've done. Eventually planning to go bigger on the tires and add some lift.IMG_4410.HEIC.jpg

That sucks... I had to deal with a similar situation when replacing my old rusty hitch recently. But it was on a separate part, not yet attached to the truck. Ended up taking it my local mechanic and he helped me out.

Do you have any tools to extract the shaft of the bolt?

Installed my new “trunk” to make the regular cab a better grocery getter. Used blind fasteners in the bed to make it easily removable when needed.
