That's was the door switch not being depressed all the way.

 

Mine does the same thing when you open the passenger door. Have to play with the door switch to get it to stay on

 

I just happened to have a box of 1/4 ounce wheel weight sitting on the bench so I stuck one of those on the door. Problem solved!

 

Anyone think this fit wouldn't be acceptable for a production run?

 

Looks pretty good. I'd personally want the front side to have a bit more gap on the long lip to do more of a valley weld.

 

X2. But I think welding w/ gas you'd be able to get close with Ryan's template

Appreciate the feedback fellas. That should be a simple correction to the drawing. I'm curious to see how similar one truck will be from another. I'll extend the cab side on top of the frame down about a 16th of an inch too. Would prefer to have the weld on the frame instead of the original bucket.

Those gussets are looking good ryan. If you were up for it, I would post up a group buy and see what kind of traction you get. After working with Brett on his a little I feel like those have a lot less fitment issues unlike the TC gussets.

 

Lower it and swap in a multi-mode tcase!

Yeah, those damn TC coil bucket gussets took hours to get fit up right.

 

I likely will once I get another truck done. Just want to confirm fitment before taking peoples money. I'm not sure this will be able to be installed if someone already has the TC gussets on. I suppose if the UCA stubs holes were cut to make a slot it could be slid in there instead of bent about 45* on a bench and install bolts and bend it the rest of the way.

Not really. But I think the idea was originally to keep the coil bucket from bending inward. I'm sure it helps with that. Double shearing the UCA isn't all bad.

Also I'd be down for a set as well. I'm sure you'll have no problems selling these in large batches.

 

What kind of mpg do you get in the SX? Both my trucks are averaging 16. Hoping to find something better for daily duty.

 

Over 20. It's 1100 lighter. Makes a difference. With Igor I get around 16-17 average on my commute. 18.5 gal tank would last a week.

On the little truck the 16.5 gal tanks lasts over a week on the same commute.

Plus it's a hoot to drive. I really like it. Hoping I can do the tcase swap when I do the clutch but still trying to figure out drive shaft stuff.

 

I have the TC gussets but would like to add a set of these.

 

I put them on before I knew about the cracking issues.

I think they should help the entire coilbucket from flexing inwards, which should help. They're definitely not hurting anything.

I still think a crossbrace would be the best solution.

Going to make them a little harder to fit, but should be doable.

Well the T100 might be the bigger shitbox... I think the fuel pump died. I have spark and it cranks over just fine, just doesn't fire.

 

haha yeah that sucks. My SX did that too. But is old and a looooot of miles so understandable.

 

350k on the body. Wouldn't be surprised if it it's the original pump. Hopefully I can get it pulled into the shop tomorrow at work and do a little more troubleshooting. Naturally I just filled the tank. I did crack the line to the fuel filter and cranked. Expected fuel to squirt out but it was just a slow drip.
