Yeah, there have been several open carry demonstrations in my area. Its definitely still a very touchy issue. Although it is legal based on Cali law.. I wouldn't personally do it. I don't think people are quite ready to "publicly" accept it. But I'm glad I have a CCW :D

Yeah, I agree with asus611...I don't think I would open carry even if it was legal in SC...makes you a target for those who are wanting to commit a crime then you become the removable obstacle...I will stick to my CCW...
Enough of that, since this is a Tacoma forum, I purchased my oxygen sensor and I am getting ready to put it on and I cannot find anywhere in my Haynes where it gives me torque settings on the sensors flange nuts. Does anybody here know where I can get this information or does anyone know what the torque settings are?

    Thanks

    Taken from this site: http://www.4x4wire.com/toyota/4Runner/tech/O2_Sensor/

"The torque specs on the 12mm nuts is 14 foot-lbs, which is about the same torque used to install spark plugs."

I kinda just did the "feel it by using the force" technique.. No problems so far!

Okay, so my 2000 Taco is still idling rough. It does not do it all the time, mostly when it has been driven a while and it still does not do it all the time then. This is what I have done so far:

    • Checked the vacuum lines and all appear to be in good condition
    • Replaced my air filter and cleaned the MAF sensor
    • Cleaned the Idle Speed Control Valve
    • Replaced upstream oxygen sensor
    • Ran two tanks of Chevron Techron
    • Replaced the spark plugs
When I replaced the spark plugs I numbered them according to which cylinder they came out of and noticed that numbers 2, 4, and 6 plugs which line up on the driver side all seem to be burning lean. 1, 3 and 5 seem to look as they should. I know that 1, 3 and 5 are on a separate fuel rail or fuel map than 2, 4 and 6. What would cause the even side to run leaner than the odd side? Could this cause my truck to idle rough?

How many miles are on the truck?

I am pushing 174K miles on my truck. Here are some pictures of the spark plugs I posted in another thread:

The first picture are the plugs from cylinders 1, 3 and 5 (which line up on the passenger side). It may be hard to tell but when you rotate each plug around the rim of the plug is consistently black which is normal wear on a plug.
    Plugs_1_3_5_30235ce9133398459d65ebd24d2c38aed51298e4.jpg

Now here is the plugs from cylinders 2, 4 and 6. the rim is not hardly or consistently black and from what I have been told it seems that these cylinders are burning lean.
I know that the even number cylinders run on the same fuel rail and the odd on their own fuel rail. I was wondering if this could possibly cause the truck to idle rough and what would cause one side of the block to burn lean?

I don't think they look that bad other than worn. The only things i would suggest are changing the fuel filter and the timing belt (if it hasn't been done to the recommended interval).

I don't think I have replaced the fuel filter since I have had the truck...I will try that next.
I replaced the timing belt last year at the end of the summer so that is good to go. Another thing I was told is that even thought the timing was "zeroed" when I replaced the belt, it could have stretched since and the cam timing may be a little off...

put some regular plugs in it also those tri fire plugs only work real well with a high energy ignition system.
