    Butts yes. You gonna hit a stall and the temp will just sit there breaking down the fats and such in yo butt. Then the temp will start to climb again. You got a ways to go. Usually takes me about 10-12 hours on butts cooking low and slow.

    This is a bone-in pork shoulder. I'm guessing you cook it like a butt? It looks similar.

    Meat seems to have stalled at 171

    There is some noise from AARP that people doing poorly with Covid can be deficient in vitamin D. They say that's why black folk are having a hard time, because they don't absorb D from being in the sun as easily as white folk. If your friend has cattle it's likely they are out in the sun plenty. So much for that idea...
    Of course there could be other issues...
