What are the best options for front recovery points on my 2018 TRD OR? I want to be as prepared as possible for basic recoveries, mostly recoveries involving snowy streets & people stuck in the snow. I just got a hitch receiver with bow shackle, a soft shackle, Bubba Rope. Suggestions for beefing up my recovery options without getting a new bumper.

    * considering a SSO Slimline with winch, but for now I'm having a difficult time finding legit options for accomplishing my immediate goal of having excellent front recovery capability.

    Cheers!

Do not used stretch straps or rope for snow and ice extractions. Once moving, things don’t always stop. And they are usually coming straight at you.

As far as I am aware, the only rated recovery point was made by a ARB, and it was quite bulky and expensive. But if you are considering getting a slimlin/hidden winch bumper or something, I'm not 100% sure if if it would be a right choice.

Some aftermarket options are being mentioned in this thread
Rated front recovery point with skid plate

You can also check out some of those threads for answers, as folks asked basically the same questions in them

    Good luck, and stay safe.

Search around, it’s been discussed quite a few times.

Look for a front mounted hitch receiver for the easiest and cheapest option.

Your truck has a rated front recovery point on the passenger side under the bumper. As far as I know these are only on the offroad and pro models.

    This?

Those are tow hooks (loops), not recovery points. There is a difference.

No. I'm talking about the recovery point that looks like this...

    That is a tow HOOK.

    Again, NOT a recovery point!

That's worse than the first one as far as recovery. At least you can put a D ring on that one.

That hook is fine for using with a tow strap, it's what it's designed for.

Which, again, is not the same as a recovery point.

Took hooks are nice for uncomplicated tows, like along flat smooth ground, but for off road, you really need something that is more securely attached to the vehicle.
