Most depts have a policy on when to back the F off to avoid civilian injuries or deaths during pursuits.

 

The best police chases are in Brazil. They don't back off until somebody dies.

 

Question is, what was the reason for the chase. It is easy to say they were wrong to do it without stating/knowing the reason.

I feel like my '14 Subaru Outback with A/T tires could easily do that on groomed trails with packed snow, just without the V8 growl.

 

A basic Corolla can handle that, too. Mercedes looks to be using that terrain just to test/develop VSC calibrations (considering they're AMG models with 600+ hp on tap). It wasn't intended to be challenging from a traction perspective.

Correction, 577 hp, but 627 lb-ft of torque. The "normal" G63 AMG does 0-60 mph as quickly as a A90 Supra.
