Installed a new kenwood d710 ,and a higher gain antenna in the rig. APRS is working great. Good to have in the back country.

I would bet it’s like the lakes around me. Flood control lakes operated by the Army Corps of Engineers. Just my guess.

When I showed up to the dealer to pick up my truck I had a pair of gloves for the box, a shifter knob (manual) and a tire pressure gauge for that little spot... it doesn’t fit.

Its Allatoona. From what I understand its drained in anticipation of winter rain. It comes up fairly quickly in the spring. Its been this way since I moved here 6 years ago. We had a family lake house on Lake Marion in SC for 22 years. Happened there too but more for the spring rains that drain into the lake from 2 rivers.

The last I got a PM from him was December 14th last year. I sent out another one on the 29th but never got a response. He had said this time of year he gets really busy with work hours messing with him and all the other Winter/Christmas stuff going on. Let's all hope that is the reason for his absence and not some illness causing it.

Probably 20 years ago, the old church I used to attend, was in need of a new van. They ended up buying a 15 passenger Ecnoline van. The deacons of the church all agreed it would be a good buy. Only one registered a concern because it had a V10 and that it would be terrible on gas. At the time, I had no idea Ford would be a V10 in a Ecnoline van. The church got a lot of good years out of the van, but they eventually got rid of it. It was more of a burden with repairs than it was worth.

Cool, I just did mine. To my surprise, the bed material is more of a fiber reinforced composite than plastic. It drills out easily and you can feel the rivnuts digging in and they seem strong enough. Wouldn't hesitate to mount more stuff using rivnuts, although not for load bearing duty.

Well I had great service out of my excursion it was an awesome vehicle the only time it broke down was the fuel pump went out but it failed in the driveway. The bad part was it had 3/4 tank of fuel with a 40 gallon tank it was tough. Sold it at 120k miles. If it had been a 7.3 I would still own it.

How much of a cut on the cab support? Looks like maybe 1/2"?

Did you stick those beads? 70, 60 rod?

My brother welded it. We used flux cored wire. I borrowed the welder from the company I work for. Not sure what kind. It was already in the machine. I ended up with about 1/2” of removal. If you’re referring to the pinch weld they were sliced in about 3/4” and bent in towards the engine bay.

Thanks. Welds and fabrication catch my eye. Welding engineer for a lot of years in an ASME world. Always curious. I still look at welds when I see them for inspection criteria... lol...not a fetish..a curse.

So I got my Suburu tweeters installed and the old ones out (didn't get pic putting news in):

    20210206_162423.jpg

Never realized how dirty these things get. But it's a HUGE improvement in the sound. Highly recommend doing this.

On a separate note, I attempted to get my KTJO grab handle installed, but due to changing weather conditions (and shortness of time and daylight), could not quite get it finished. So that will be for another day when it's slightly warmer and not so cloudy with rain.

    On a related note:

My package from KTJO only came with 1 washer (circled below). Does anyone know if these could purchased Home Depot, Lowe's, or local hardware store? I'm assuming they can, as I'd rather not wait another month (or longer) to get replacements from KTJO.

(@58electricman, forgive me for hijacking your photos here, but I'm using for a reference:
