Thanks. Welds and fabrication catch my eye. Welding engineer for a lot of years in an ASME world. Always curious. I still look at welds when I see them for inspection criteria... lol...not a fetish..a curse.

So I got my Suburu tweeters installed and the old ones out (didn't get pic putting news in):

    20210206_162423.jpg

Never realized how dirty these things get. But it's a HUGE improvement in the sound. Highly recommend doing this.

On a separate note, I attempted to get my KTJO grab handle installed, but due to changing weather conditions (and shortness of time and daylight), could not quite get it finished. So that will be for another day when it's slightly warmer and not so cloudy with rain.

    On a related note:

My package from KTJO only came with 1 washer (circled below). Does anyone know if these could purchased Home Depot, Lowe's, or local hardware store? I'm assuming they can, as I'd rather not wait another month (or longer) to get replacements from KTJO.

(@58electricman, forgive me for hijacking your photos here, but I'm using for a reference:

i used it the other day to top off my tires and it did fine. Today my wifes car had a flat. I plugged the tires and when I went to use it the compressor looked like it took a dump. Ill have to check it another day. Good thing I had a backup 12V plug in. Compressor goes to 90psi which should be enough. Tank looks to be at least a gallon. I like this compressor because it fits perfectly laying on its side on top of the fuse box in the engine bay. It was cheap so if it did go bad Ill get a better one.

246A9065-B65D-4DC4-AC0A-E035630335FF.jpg Finally upgraded from a Camry to Taco. Been looking for a long time for a 6 speed manual TRD Sport and found the dream truck a month or so ago. 2021 TRD Sport, Cement, leather, 6 speed.

First project was removing all the decals. Still trying to decide on putting the Tacoma back on the doors with plasti-dip. Well see. Doing a lot of reading here to help decide. Weathertech no drill mudflaps. Installed Westin Protraxx bars, in black, to make it easier for the kids to get in the truck. Today I installed the BAKflip MX4. Also got the OEM bed mat.

    Wish List:

LED bed lighting. 3M Crystalline window tint. Black exhaust tip. Remote power tailgate lock. Not a fan of the grill either but thats down on the list.

This forum is awesome for ideas and tips. Thanks a ton. Planning on keeping the truck mostly stock after the wishlist gets knocked out. Unless, of course, I catch the modding bug.

Swapped the tweeters for the Subaru Kickers. Installed the radio--transferred from the 2010 ACLB. Took my Dad for a spin. Of the 3, the best was the last.

Looks great -- welcome to TW.
The OEM LED bed lights are phenomenal. Google should pull up the cheapest OEM option (McGeorge, BAM, Olathe, etc) and go with that. Super easy plug n play install.

    Thanks!

I bought this truck a year ago telling myself, "no mods until its paid off". Well, somehow WeatherTech floor matts and Carhartt seat covers snowballed into this financial blackhole.

TW/this thread definitely doesn't help lol.

Congrats on the upcoming new ride. I am sure you will love it.
I have been running Thinkware Dashcams in my Tacoma and Golf R for a few years. They are different models for each vehicle, but both are dual (front and rear) cams and wired into the fuse box. One does not have an onboard display and connects to a phone app via direct wifi to view and download video. The other had an onboard screen and no app. Pros and cons with each one, but I guarantee you will check video more often if you don't have to pull out your phone and connect to the wifi.
Regardless, I have 5 years on one and 3 years on the other with no issues. I purchased them at "Blackboxmycar". No point in referencing the models I own as there are likely newer and better. However, I am happy with the brand and would keep them top of the list if I get another cam.

Your 21 should be good to go with the OEM shift points unless perhaps it develops an inherent issue on it's own.

The rumbles you may have heard at the gas station about the shift point issues are primarily pre-21 and some 20s.

Mine went from changing out the chrome honeycomb grille to an TRD grille, then add grill lights, and from there it's been the "financial blackhole." But I don't regret it.

I flash any TSB updates, flash a tune, reset all the learned values, and do any of the dealer Customizations that folks want. Along with a test drive to see if the tune feels good. I also take care of any updates that happen down the road.
