Ditch lights wiring

hey guys, I could use some help with wiring ditch lights. For some reasons they aren’t turning on. I’ll attach some photos of the wiring. Im using the switch it came with for now until I get the push switch in the mail.

 

Is there a fuse in the fuse holder? If there is make sure the male part of the fuse is going into the female part of the fuse holder. Sometimes the blade doesn’t always go in correctly. Also check if you have fuse installed correctly check to see if it’s blown, sometimes they can pop when hooking up or installing.

 

What he ^^ said check the fuse. Doesn’t look like it has a relay. Check the wires at the switch make sure they’re right. And you can get a ch4x4 switch in there to get that oem look when you get it fixed

Are all the plugs in the right spot on the switch? First time I used one of those switches I had it reversed

 

What’s the draw of both you lights?

This is literally the reason you would want to use a relay and keep the 12v from the battery out of the switch in your dash. Especially considering your not sure which terminals are which.

 

Yes it is. Pull the fuse out and make sure the bar inside isn’t blown.

 

I believe so, i tried switching them up as well and still nothing.

 

I bought a similar setup like yours. So the relay should have a wire for the fuse, a wire for the power source, a wire for the ground, wires that go to the actual lights, and wires for the switch. The power wire should have an inline fuse added since it connected to the power source, like the battery or if you tapped the fuse box, an add a fuse. I think the switch that comes with the wire harness needs to be connected to the power source along with a fuse to protect it, a ground, and another wire for illumination I think, I’m not sure. I ended up using an oem style switch. If the lights aren’t turning on, then you possibly have a bad ground or blown fuse or switch not wired correctly. If you hear the relay clicking but not lighting up, check the wiring. I had a similar problem with my install. To get the switch through the firewall, you have to cut the wire and feed it through the grommet and reconnect the wires. My mistake was I did all the proper connections in the engine bay and with the power and ground wires on, I cut the wires for the switch together with wire cutters. I saw a spark and the metal wire cutters completed the circuit for switch and I blew the fuse.

 

Make sure to replace with same size fuse...

 

Maybe it’s cause you’re trying to put a round switch in a square hole

 

The fuse is replaced and they are working now, thank you.

 

lol thats just what it came with, its temporary until I get the OEM push switch. They are working now, fuse was blown.
