Rear "seat" organizers

I'm looking for an organizer for the rear "seat" area of my 2000 extra cab. I use it for business, and would like to keep my work supplies handy and organized, instead of laying all over the back area. I'm even willing to remove those almost useless seats. All I can find are the ones that are designed for the double cab, that fit UNDER the double cab's back seat. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a bunch.

i'm interested in a solution for this, too. i've had my '04 x-tra cab for a little more than a month and a half...for now, i have a plastic crate (square milk crate) sitting in the middle of the rear "seats." it's fine for most of the smaller stuff i haul around regularly...but i would like to find a nicer and more versatile solution...

 

look for the "dog mod" it makes the rear area completely flat, then just go from there.

 

What sort of items do you keep in the rear bench area?

 

I bought this off QVC a few years ago to keep shit from slidding around in my SUV, its a 4 compartment organizer that seperates with velcro tabs,It sets on the rear shelf and the drink holder now, I use it in the Taco to keep my grocerys and other stuff from sliding all over, maybe a search on car trunk organizers will turn up something, the green arrors point to where it can be made into a 4 compartment if needed, or you may be able to build something out of wood.

 

For smaller items, this would be the way to go. I've used a couple of 'generic' organizers like this in my XtraCabs over the last 15 years, and they've worked out just fine. I recommend the ones that have velcro (or straps) to secure them to the seat / bench.

 

I Think I'll take twfsa's suggestion and have one made of wood. I carry my supplies for the work I do, including a metal clipboard with my work orders in it, inspection stickers, gloves, wearable headlights for night work, and other small tools. The foldable types of organizers aren't rigid enough for the things I want to keep back there. Thanks for the pointers and suggestions. Apparently, all the commercial suppliers of rigid organizers are interested in are the double cab Tundras.

 

Building one out of wood is definitely the way to go. I know I only have the regular cab, but I use my bed a lot and everything would slide up to the front and I would have to crawl in under it cuz it's a PITA to unsnap all the buttons and take my over off to get to the front. Just this past Saturday I built an organizer to fit in between the tailgate and my wheel wells and it works great. One of the collapsable ones would of just fell apart.
