    Good morning All,

Chilly this morning, lower teens. Sunny right now but still cold, have a few projects to do outside today. Third cup of coffee ten bathe the dogs and run a local errand - masks up

Have a great day and be safe - got on the list to get first vaccine next Friday if the county gets what they were promised this week.

I bought one for $100 while I was stationed at Guam. I loved that thing too. Not sure now whether it was a Ford or a Willys. Rebuilt the rusted frame forward of the firewall using steel I cut from a Japanese superstructure. Just utilitarian, nothing fancy. Made a small profit on it when I shipped out.

Any Glaucoma sufferers out there. I have an appointment this week to talk about laser surgery to relieve my eye pressure. They say it can even fix it where I won't have to use these dam eye drops every day. Shit gives me blurry vision where I can't read anything here on TW, or even watch tv. Anyone had any laser surgery on their eyes for Glaucoma and want to comment about it, give me any suggestion. Appreciate any and all comments. turning 64 this year, but I have days where I feel 80.

I had the Regular LASIK surgery several years ago that worked out great. I’m back in glasses again now. Could get a touch up to correct it again but my last eye visit I was showing signs of cataracts so I’ll save the touch up for when they correct that.
Very little pain. Eyes felt dry and like they had sand grit in them for a couple days and that was it not really pain.
The treatment itself took 30 seconds for my one eye and 33 seconds for the other. The only weird part is the suction eye cup that holds your eye in place and steady for the process to complete.

x2 on the glasses thing. I was far sighted, and had both (cataract) eyes done. Now only need over the counter reading glasses. Downside is light sensitivity, but again, non prescription works for me.

    Welcome JC!

    Afternoon Sue!

OK, after owning them for overt 50 yrs. I just found out what ADL, BDL, and the newer CDL stands for on Remington rifles, am I the only one that didn't know!
ADL is average deluxe, BDL is better deluxe, and CDL is classic deluxe, pretty simple, but it's the first time I ever heard that, especially the ADL and BDL.

I didn’t know about CDL. I thought that was a commercial drivers license. LOL

I wish they would go back to wood stocks. Everything today is all utilitarian and nothing collectible.

    Evening gents and Lady.
Was getting cataract surgery done on both eyes. Left eye was good. The right eye has astigmatism and they put a corrective lens in (which was over the cost of the standard lens) and I have slightly blurred vision in that eye. Complained to the doctor and she said their goal is to make me happyo_O. When I get home I have 2 options which I am very unhappy about. One is get fitted for a contact lens or have laser surgery on the eye. I don't want a contact lens so it might be laser only if they can guarentee it will take care of the problem. I am right eye dominant and want to be able to pick up the front sight clearly.
I have an ADL and it is a great gun. My BIL had a BDL. The stock was fancier and it had a floor plate for loading. Bought mine back in the 70's and it is a great shooter.
    Have a good night all.

Good evening Porch People! Wow, I got to go catch up. Next week, you folks in the North are going to be writing books about the coming weather!

So, here's my story, and I'm sticking to it. It did take the 2 days I set aside for the little project, thanks to more (non-measurable) rains and drizzles, and FedEx delivery. The first replacement rain barrel arrived yesterday, the second late this afternoon. In between, I did the fence gate when it stopped being wet this morning.

Both old barrels developed a leak in roughly the same place. Silicone RTV, and as seen on TV tape, paste, and can goop didn't solve it. Leaks just expanded around the patch. Anyway old is gone, and here are the new....

And the best news is that someone threw the old barrels I left on the curb on a trailer this evening just before I started cooking!

So, the hard work part of the project was behind the back fence, where they dug out for the gate was both not low enough, and starting to weed. Mr. Tiller to the rescue! Back of the fence is where I put all the clippings to prevent weeds, with "used rocks and concrete" as an edge; works OK, but still have to touch it up with Roundup.

If you don't think Mr. Tiller is a tough little SOB, all of the "dark colored" rocks were pulled out of that area. Several, I had to hammer out of the tillers grip! Didn't faze it.

Meet Little Big Red, and the 12 bags of wet, decomposed granite.

And that's the way it is! Going to crock pot up some Super Chili tomorrow, and Super Joes for Mikkel, then enjoy the game. Hope you had a great Saturday!

Good morning, all. Snow today - predicting 1 to 3" so it's really just nuisance stuff. I'll have to clear it off tonight, though - head out in the morning to get the truck serviced and I want to get the driveway cleared before I leave. No real plans for today other than to watch the football game anyway.

    Be safe out there!

 I would have to put on my Nanuck of the North clothes Will...that is cold.
I guess if it gets colder in two days it can be considered a heat wave Kurto_O.

As always folks be careful and be safe.

Welcome JC. Sounds like you had some children between trucks. I have had my Tacoma for almost 12 years now and the truck is a work horse with no problems.

Getting ready to put breakfast on the griddle. Super Bowl dinner tonight will be smoked wings on the Weber Kettle and oriental shrimp on the griddle.

I was diagnosed with early stage glaucoma last year. Tried the 'nice' eyedrops which did nothing for me. Then tried some kind of pasty, gritty, horrid stuff that caused me to not be able to see clearly for over an hour. Big nope. So I got the laser surgery for reducing pressure. It worked well for me. No negative after effects.

I had no idea there were so many snowblower geeks on here. A couple of pics of one of my former blowers for your entertainment! Crary BearCat. 8hp Tecumseh, all of the drives go in the same direction so no differentials anywhere, clutch driven augers and impeller with no shear pins to break. A real beast.
