Shit man, I didn't know you'd be leaving me your 4R to have something to drive in :D

Got the Sherpa Maxtrax mounts and pins in.

What was frustrating was ensuring the mount didn't move once you got the right length and width; the mounts have holes for the pins that are slightly wider for adjustability. Little awkward tightening those pins down without moving them once you find the right spot -

Couple of goodies arrived for the 4R.

To start, a set of Extreme LED Stackerz lights. They use CREE LEDs so I know they'll be plenty bright and are from a company in the USA. I'd take a guess that the housings are from China but that's ok.

I will be using them as chase lights hence the reason for choosing amber. Also ordered them as Spot lights for better penetration when visibility is an issue -

Interesting to see that not only you get a standard mount, you can combine these to create an even larger spread -

Next up are my 4XInnovation sliders. I literally remember having ordered these very recently only to have them delivered already.

    Fucking mint!

Those look just like the KC flex lights. Got a link for them? Their website says “no longer available”.

If you only got a set of lights, use promo code 10G for 10% off. Any orders larger than that, promo code found at the top of the site.

I plan on mounting the chase lights to the rear most cross bar of my roof rack, like this -

    _DSC5419.jpg

In fact, those are the same lights and rack I've got.

Later on...maybe a shock relocation :anonymous:

Damn, way cheaper than the sets found at Sherpa Equipment Co - https://sherpaequipmentco.com/accessories/baja-designs-rock-light

I had considered them since I have an awning and prefer to camp close to my truck anyway. Then I forgot about the lighting as I have lanterns but you bringing it up again makes me want them for convenience.

Adding the chase lights, rack lights now that you mentioned, and possibly a fridge makes me wonder how I want to wire everything up.

I need a game plan

Game plan? Switch pros and lights every where. The strobe function would be fun

    Really though, if I limit myself to;

    Chase Lights, add strobe function

Roof Rack lights, left and right, one switch per side

*Possibly a fridge, not for a while*

I won't really need a fancy switch panel of any sort. Maybe just do like the Tacoma with a metal hanger and mount my switches there.

Wonder what options are available for the 4R.

I just got these to replace my super cheap rock lights. Surprisingly good construction. Aluminum housing and epoxy filled board cavity. $30 but you can use the 20% coupon to bring them down to $25 for a pair.

Pro tip: go two separate times so you can use the coupon twice.

I do need to return a torx set as the tip broke the same day; been too busy to do so.

Aside from some wheeling, I've ordered a hidden winch mount.

Been back and forth on an aftermarket bumper for awhile now but nothing really stands out for me.

So I'll get that installed, trim part of the lower rear bumper, and go about getting a winch installed.

    Some more goodies arrived!

    Hidden Winch Mount -

I have to say, per @JKO1998 recommendation (more like 9-10...I swear, he deserves sponsorship), I ordered this mount from Amp'd Up LLC

I haven't even started on getting it mounted, which may not happen until I buy a winch, but Albert was super easy to get ahold of and answered my questions damn near instantly via text.

Not only that, I had a tracking number within 20 minutes of placing my order!

Never have I received such a fast response to everything, and shipping that came all too quick even during this pandemic.

I'll have to give him props all throughout social media cause the guy deserves it

I love all the detail in your build. Have you picked out a winch yet?

    Thanks!

I had a Warn VR winch that I ended up selling to Tyler; considered something similar again until I ran into the Badlands Apex. Seems to be a great bang for the buck so that's what I'll go with.

Just a few things left to do and I'll be happy for awhile.
