I did too originally but the black ones grew on me and now you couldn’t pay me to change them!

I think it’s one of those “grass is always greener” situations. Facts are, they both look great! I had a 97 Tacoma extended cab that I put black bushwhacker fender flares on and I loved it! Now, with this truck, I really like the color matches flares!

 

I think back in the day poor people had black bumpers
Black door handles
Black mirrors

rich people had body colored everything

so my thought process is a left over from that era

 

I’ve been on the search for a softopper. I’ve found two 2nd gen toppers locally, but I’m after a 3rd.

Very tight truck, is there any problems of wind noise from the gap in the bed from topper to cab?

 

Nope, no sound. This the Bestop Supertop II... other brands including Softop ( now the same ownership as Bestop ) appear to fit a little closer to the cab, if you'd prefer that.

I also plan on a canopy. I'm not sure yet, on windoors, windows, or no windows on the sides, even though I have my truck configured three different ways (for visuals) in Adobe Photoshop.
Wheels & tires, side-boards and graphics have also been done. The Pillar vinyl may also go away.

@Taco2021LB FWIW: spend the money on at least windoors. Makes accessing the front of the bed much easier (especially w/ a lift). I picked my cap up 2nd hand and considering swapping the windoors for ones that also have a sliding window section. Our dogs are never in the bed but I like being able to keep it from becoming an oven back there when needed.
