What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Just curious. How long does it take to do an actual tune? I ask only because I have no idea.

Took @PapaRee about 30 minutes to do mine, bets mod I have done to my truck so far.

 

Went for a drive by the Sunshine Skyway Bridge....

 

About 30 minutes total. 5 minutes to get the computer ready, 5 minutes to upload the tune, then 20 minutes to make sure everything runs properly.

Thanks for that info. I had no idea. Makes me wonder if he could do it remotely. I have no idea if that is possible but hear me out. He downloads the update to a USB (or what ever). You pay him. He mails it to you. Then you do it and he can consult and walk you through the checks via FaceTime or what ever. I wonder if that would work ...

Basically what you described is what OV tune sells from their website. You buy a specialty cable to hook up the truck to your computer, you buy a special program on the computer to upload the tune, and finally you buy the actual tune files (which they just email you.) All of that adds up to around $800 to do it yourself or to get someone who has the software and cables it costs around $250.

 

Nah, that is not possible. At the moment, you have to have registered software on a registered computer/laptop to flash the tunes.
Cost for someone to flash your truck--Approx. $250
Cost to buy the software and learn to flash yourself--Approx $750-800 (and many hours of reading/research)
