Oil pan drain valve for 3.4 V6

I think I saw a mod for draining the oil pan with what looked like a valve used on motor cycle gas tanks. If I remember correctly you can slide a small hose on the valve just to get it below the skid plate for draining. Can anyone tell me what it is called and where I may pick one up? I don't make any mess with the filter removal but still make a small mess with the drain plug. Thanks in advance.

I had the Fumoto on two of my vehicles for several years. Ordered directly from Fumoto without issue. Never any leaks.

The only thing I would caution against is having a shop do your oil changes with the valve installed. I once spoke to a dealer tech that said he removes those valve to drain. Says it takes way too long to drain via the valves itself and their job is based on how fast they can get it done.

Is that uncool? Of course. But I get it from his perspective. And yes, it does take much longer to drain via the valve.

 

I use the fumota because I change my own oil, crack the valve with a foot long piece of 3/8 tube and let it drain while I get other things ready

 

The Fumoto valve came in today. I asked the lady at Fumoto what was the difference between the

F133N. She said the F133N has a 60% faster drain rate so I bought that one. Will install it during next oil change.

Will do. I change the oil every 8K or 8 weeks which ever comes first. I put 60K on it in 14 months so those oil changes come rather quickly. Been averaging 1000 miles per week sometimes 1500 per week

 

As long as you do your own changes you should be good.

We had to remove all the valves installed on our equipment it was far to common to show up in the morning with puddles of oil . Far to easy for people to open the valve and walk away at night.

Losing one engine was all it took.

 

Well the oil change finally came due today. The oil flow out of the

F133N was slower than the plug and may have taken 60 seconds longer to drain. I can live with that just for the fact that I didn't have oil running down my arm after removing the drain plug. Used a 12 inch long drain hose to get it down to the bucket. I ran the truck just enough to warm it up but not to normal operating temperature before starting so that may have slowed it down a bit.

Fumoto F133N plugs are awesome. Put one in on my last oil change and very happy with it for about 5k miles now.

 

I'm trying to wrap my brain around this one. People maliciously drained the oil in your work vehicles? There are plenty of ways to vandalize an unattended vehicle, but this just seems strange to me.

 

Engine Drive Welders at job sites look like you belong no one bothers you.

You need to remember the drain valve was right there within easy reach about 24" of the ground

 

Just installed on 2.7. This is great, Surely will buy more for other toys
