Nothing beats a fresh set of K02s. They are a beautiful tire, despite being ubiquitous, and not everything to everyone.

Yah I really thought I had this all figured out but now im having doubts. Even panicked and started looking at 285 tires lol. Just finished my lift the other day and I think it rides harsher, now I'm worried with E it will be even worse.

Do you off-road a lot where a puncture is a possibility? If your truck is mainly street driven I would definitely go SL or C. I have SL rated Wildpeaks and they ride great and perform very well in all conditions. No reason to go E on these small trucks unless you are off-road a lot.

Yes I wheel it. But E rated tires being more puncture resistant is a myth. The number of plys you see on different tire ratings is just an antiquated way of measuring load, coming from back when tires actually did have a ton of plys to support more weight. Nowadays tires are all pretty much 2-3 layers, regardless of load rating, link below for an explanation:

https://www.tirebuyer.com/education...d ranges correspond to the ply ratings of old.

I may be remembering incorrectly but I thought that the Falken 275s are slightly heavier than the KO2 275s, despite the KO2s being a heavier load rating. I don't know if this increased weight (albeit small) offsets the difference in load rating and negates any real difference in the nebulous and subjective "ride quality". I'm not arguing one way or another, I actually don't know, but someone else may be able to 'weigh' in.

One thing I do know is that this "ride quality" metric is quite subjective as I did not notice any significant change in my 'RQ' going from Falken WP 265s to KO2 275s. It is different but not better or worse. I noticed more resistance after putting a Prinsu rack on than any other mods I've done.

Love the looks of the 275 size on these trucks. Looks “right”.

So I ended up sticking with ko2’s and finished my lift all this weekend as well. It definitely is a little “harsher” but it’s mainly because of the lift to me. It feels right though honestly and I don’t regret the ko2 right now. Plus it looks good ‍♀️ But I really don’t feel any significant power loss or anything else.

K02 are pretty much the standard. Can’t go wrong.

BFG KO2 275/70R17s + Bilstien 5100 (setting #4) + ICON AAL without overload leaf. Slight rubbing on stock front mud flaps while turning up into a slope (I think I can just grind off a hair in one spot). Don't really notice much of a difference in feel with the weight/size difference of the tires. Fully expecting a slight drop in MPGs. Overall, very happy.Screen Shot 2021-01-18 at 9.38.32 PM.jpg

Agh. I just put on my bilstein 5100 with OME885 coils and a 1.5" AAL in rear.
Got some JBA UCAs as well.

Put on the 275/70/17 Cooper ST max and am rubbing!
My black rhinos have a -12 offset... which I imagine os the culprit.

Any chance my alignment tomorrow will remedy this? Y'all think I should trim or bail and drop to 265?

This is likely due to the offset as you mentioned. Here’s me 265/75/16 on a -12 offset near full lock.

the alignment can definitely help. But the technician needs to know you want to push the wheel forward and will need to know how to do that (getting rear LCA cam bolt outward and front one inward). You need to go to an offroad shop most likely where guys know about alignments and fitting bigger tires. There’s no caster adjust on the JBAs so they’ll need to be okay push the caster more positive than it already is (3.0).

Im pretty sure the fender liner. But when I get off from work today I should be able to snag some photos at full turn to know exactly.
I suppose that would have been helpful information before asking here...

if you out in a block lift, the ride will be very poor by comparison. With suspension, I find you get what you pay for. While some mid-level lifts are decent (OME, Bilstein, etc), King or Fox is definitely so much better. I have the King and mine rides better than stock on a 2.5” lift, bigger (and better) all terrain tires, and at highway speeds.

your 885 at bottom setting will only give you about 1.8 inch of lift you need at least 2.5in lift to clear those tire with those offset

    Update:
got an alignment today. rubbed once since on a pretty slow and tight turn. May be able to get away with some plastic heating and mashing.

do you have an side view images of this with the lift?

I’m installing an icon stage 4, roughly 2.5 inch lift, so I’m imagining it’ll be similar to your look. I’m happy to hear your -18 offset clears it. I’m going back and forth on Wildpeaks and KO2’s... currently they have my Wildpeaks in but they are .2 inch taller than the KO2... I’m contemplating a last min change. do you think you could clear another .2 inches of tire with your current set up? I’ll be at -10 offset.
