Hey all - wanted to bounce this off of the community.

Purchase a new '21 TRD OR in early January. Hadn't noticed this crease in the seat caused by the headrest mount, but would think this would create unnecessary wear over time? Purchased the truck outright, so not leased and hoping to keep for however long it'll give me. I oddly had a similar issue in my '17 Grand Cherokee Overland when I purchased it new and they replaced the entire leather seat cover under warranty, curious if Toyota will do the same if I look to have them fix?

Just wait until your seats start to bubble. I'm curious if they fix that too.

You can probably take a trim tool (or something similar) and push it under there further to get rid of it. I remember seeing videos of Clazzio covers being installed and seeing a similar issue.

I would rather take it to an upholstery shop and give them $50 to fix it in five minutes instead of letting a dealer replace the seat.

I’d point it out to the dealer and at least make a note of it. My dealer has been very receptive to replacing prematurely worn parts. As for QA issues...I’ve been less impressed with the fit and finish of the the Tacoma than I was with my Tundra. Good truck overall though.

Ehh, if it was me i'd let that slide. Take it to the dealer and they will do more damage trying to fuck with that.

No way I could subject myself, or my truck to the dealership for that..

Man, i had minor stretches on the seat and back on the passenger seat after only about 5k miles and i wish i never took it to those clowns. Not only it took them 4 tries, they ripped the upholstery so they had to order a new one only after i told them. The 3rd time they reinstalled the seat cover with a tear in it, idiots... They even hired an upholstery company and still they couldnt make it right. IMO it will never look as good as factory if they start touching it. All my other seats look perfect.

Now my passenger seats looks even worse than it ever did. Thats my experience anyway, good luck.

One uph shop quoted me 400$ to fix the seat... I still need to shop around, im not paying more than 250$ to fix that.

The upholstery covering on the seat is so loose, it needs to be filled with something. It looks really bad, ill take a pic later.

Also, toyota dealers dont replace seats, they can only order the uph coverings and cushions. The service mananger showed me.

When I got my 20 the rear seat had a couple of really bad stitches. I took it in and they installed a new seat cover, looks like it should have from the factory. How it got thru QC I will never know.
