So, to translate, you want to know what has worked best for a swingout hinge?

I have this on the 4Runner and used it on the Tacoma as well. They are the best designs I have seen, IMO. Super beefy, come either driver or passenger configuration.

Yeah, hinge. I'm still half asleep.

That looks really nice, and its got the built in lock. How easy is to take the swingout off and put it back on? I probably wouldn't want it on all the time.

    Thanks!

Just depends on how heavy and awkward the swingout ends up being to handle alone. The hinge is a single bolt assembly otherwise and once you have everything made, the bearings are captured with seals and won't fall out. The hinge uses bearing like you would find on a motorcycle for the fork stems, so they are made to last.

Blew out 2 of the 3 zip ties for the battery yesterday trailing, threw another one on top to make it back home. What's the bolt size so I can grab that today at home depot?

Truck did good tho, weather was great. Got to see that alien place bradshaw ranch

    Totally aware. Not a noob.

Yes, IFS can do this too. However, IFS in the 4runner sites too far back on the frame. You would have to cut it all off and move it forward. There are other ways to do this, like the Marlin RCLT and bigger tires.

SAS would be the simplest and most effective way to move the front axle forward on the 4runner.

Yeah thats an option too. The integrated locking mechanism on that 4xinnovations unit would save me a ton of time though.

Anyone in here with a sporty car (nothing you have counts as sporty @Empty_Lord) have tire preferences? Shopping for new tires for the 135i, mine are about 500mi from dangerous... which since we're getting close to spring means I can probably squeeze em till the next oil change.

Yokohama s drives that came on my dad's bmw were from the gods... He ultimately went to all seasons because wearing through a set of tires every year got old but they had grip for days

Picked up all sorts of road debris though

I've got arguably one of the most aggressive high performance summer tires right now (Michelin Pilot Sport 4s) and I can still light em up in any gear that isn't overdrive. KO2s would be like driving in snow on drag slicks, though it would look pretty cool haha

I'd be happy with something similar or even a tiny bit worse. The tires on there now are skinnier than I prefer. So I'm going up a couple sizes and hoping to pick up some treadlife from a harder compound. The Pilot Sports are 1 season tires. They have 8.5k on them and they're almost dead. Right now I'm eyeing the Continental DWS6
