The truck doesn't attempt to start when its not getting what ever signal its trying to get, i have a loose wire I can directly connect to the battery to keep the fuel pump running at all time just to attempt to start it up. But thats when I discovered the spark and fuel aren't willing to turn on.
I traced many wires and haven't found any breaks in the system, everything is resisting the way it should

I had this same exact problem with my 93 pickup (22-re). Replaced several expensive parts (expensive for a $2000 truck with 290k miles that was beat to hell) and no luck. Was tearing my hair out over it. Ended up being a coolant temp sensor...$23 part at oreilly. Couldn’t believe it. Not sure if this translates to your situation but I wish you the best of luck.

Edit - wait...did I read correctly that once it’s warm and doesn’t want to start that it isn’t cranking at all?

Hey, I have the same issue going on. Did you ever figure out the issue?

the last post was May of 2020 so I think he gave up.

Jussa, is the Check engine light illuminated when you turn the key to the "on" position and then go out?

The fact the OP`s Check Engine Light failed to light leads me to ECM problems .

Meaning it might have been any of the added parts or just a poor connection being the truck was a 97 the shops may not have put much effort into trouble shooting .

Myself I would hate to get involved so far after the start with all the added parts in the mix .

It would be nice to know if it was ever figured out.

Glamisman no it does not come on at all anymore. That started as soon as this issue started. Haven't replaced anything yet, but have checked things with a multimeter and so far fuses and everything is good. The COR is good and functioning. I have no power to my fuel pump and no spark. No check engine light when the key turns to run. Ran great last time it ran, about 3 weeks ago. Check engine light has always worked. It has been inside since it was parked last. Im trying to not end up running into the same issue as he did where I replace everything and it doesn't work.

Check your ECM ground on the intake should be The brown wires grouped together.

What happens when you try and pull codes ?? Do you get unable to connect message?

Is it possible your ECM got really wet or the Electrical System had a huge voltage spike??

It's less Tacoma and more mod
It will not on earlier Toyota models, they must see crank rotation before they engage the fuel pump, and even earlier ones with a VAFM must see airflow before the pump is engaged.... Neither of those conditions will be met without the starter

Just another suggestion: Get a cheap universal Noid light - use it to see if the fuel injectors are firing (opening and closing) If no signal to drive the injectors - theres your next area to check.

I will double check when I get home but the grounds seemed to be good. I am bringing home a scanner today to see if I can get anything out of the port. Do you think the crank sensor could be it?

Who can say it can be the crank sensor the cam sensor the MAF sensor also a poor connection at the Igniter or any of the wiring or the ECM.

Any loss of signal that makes the ECM think the engine is not turning over will shut off the fuel.

Any Evil Rodents chewing on wires?? The fact it was working when you parked the truck has me thinking rodents

No rodents that I can see. The garage is sealed and have never had any signs of rodents in the past. Is there a good way to check these sensors? I'm still teaching myself electrical, I know a good amount but not super familiar with what the correct readings should be.

Check the power and grounds first. Then unplug and replug each of the PCM connectors.

The part that bothers me is the truck was running fine when it was parked .

Now we have a Cranks but no start .

Enough coating on the fuel pump sock or fuel filter the pump can`t push fuel after sitting this long?

I disconnected the fuel line at the fuel filter and checked to see. No gas would come out. I ran a jump wire from the battery to the fuel wire at the plug under the seat. Pump turns on and spits out fuel. The pump works only with direct 12 volt. Ground is good becuase I did not use an alt ground. I plugged in a good obd2 reader. It says no connection found. I have power going through my efi relay. Going off the pictures (thanks glamisman!) It looks like white and red is going to be a 12v to the esu but I could be wrong... So far it looks like I'm not getting any sort of power to it but not 100% sure I am doing it correctly. Grounds on the intake are good. Tested those. Might be a silly question but Should I get a ground at the efi relay too?

The first thing to do is figure out why the ECU is not communicating and the check engine light doesn't light. Could be wiring or fuse or the ECU itself.

As you can see in the first picture of the wiring diagram the fuel pump circuit opening relay will turn on the fuel pump when the engine is cranking with the key in START position. That will happen even if the ECU were completely removed!

Drz that is good information! I will see why it isn't getting power at the tail end of this. I really appreciate the help from everyone by the way!
