Do you have a garage or any place to do fab work? In AZ that's kinda important especially on tacomas since there really aren't much bolt on bits for our years, especially not a 5 lug

Not trying to be a downer, but going to piggyback on what Zane said above.

I don't have a garage, and even doing stuff on the 4R or Tacoma (or any other car) is a bit of a pain and these vehicles have more bolt on accessories than your 5 lug does.

Which reminds me; 5.0 needs an oil change, tire rotation, spark plugs, and cabin filter by now.

How many times do i gotta say my truck was stolen and burned to the ground, and the 5 lug was my first find I was able to buy by the next monday when i needed to work lol

I lost my last truck and had the 5 lug in my parking spot within 5 days of it being gone. 94k miles on a 4 cyl tacoma screamed reliable and that was where it started. I still owe half of my financing on the slug and unless the tranny or something else expensive goes Ill keep the truck because at least the engine is now good at least another 200-300k with the money I put in so far. Some people accommodate to the cards their dealt

I'm not trying to be either, but when I was living the apt life... well my builds didn't move fast. It was do everything at friends places whom I was very grateful would let me. I still had to buy all my fab stuff though, metal stock, grinders, welders, presses, you get the idea. Fab work would be impossible in a apt parking lot... this coming from a guy who welded on his apt balcony using the bbq as a stand.

Pardon me if you told me before it was erased from my mind

I didn't know the circumstance behind the decicmsion for a 5 lug

Still I'd wait for a 1500 dollar 4 runner as you save before you put more into the 5 lug no inconvenience as you already have a pu bed

I have my parents place and friends as well when the big ticket items come for the time being. All of last year dicking on work with the HG in the sun has blistered the importance of a garage or "safe places" from the heat :rofl::rofl:

That's pretty cool if you've got friends and family's houses you can do work at.

I put my roof rack on while I was at my storage

Something like that is just awkward as hell.

The roof rack wasn't hard at all; just a pain when going from one side to the other and back again measuring the rack and legs to ensure everything is centered.

One of the biggest/most destructive fires in Socal last year was started by an incendiary device used in a gender reveal party. A firefighter died in it.

People are dumb, it's less disappointing if you just learn to assume that from the get go. Those who aren't will leave you pleasantly surprised
