It's still possible to keep it legal. @thegame used an older f150 tank and retrofit the stock sending unit. It's completely street legal still here in Cali. :notsure:

afaik, you can use any tank as long as you retain the OEM equipment & pump. Although I bet you'd still have a find a good go-to smog guy for it. Some shops are way too picky.
I had a couple that wouldn't smog my truck because I have a silicone boot on my intake to replace the rubber OEM one that had cracked. Weakest shit ever.

You'll have to be GREAT friend or someone you know closely that will trust you. As soon as they notice something that is not OE, they'll either turn you away or note your VIN in the database and refer you to state referee. Things only get complicate from there. So DUMB!

    Speedo is on the tcase.

I assume the TG housing would work with ABS axle shafts if you remove the tone ring and inboard retainer ring, but I couldn't find anything to confirm that.

IMO - just keep looking for a stock housing. I paid $60 for one. Someone's been trying to give one away here in CO.

Guess I'm buying chevy 63s and 2.0x14s then. :bananadead:

I saw the 4link kit from Brian which is why I started to think I'd just link my truck front and rear.

also, i want to thank everybody for taking the time and sharing the knowledge. I'm not as mechanically inclined as some of you. I have wrenched in the past, but i lose my temper really easy and tools end up thrown down the drive way. lol. Beers on me on the trail

If you're going custom, get a wider wms and do a vertical outside frame mount.

RS housing IMO is 10x better than TG. Something about TG just make me :violent:

IMO, buying anything other than a stock rear axle is a waste of money if you want to go tons. Even if it's temporary.

Yep. You won't be able to recoup your loss... you'll take a 30-50% loss easily.
