to be fair, Edison (electric company) has been at fault for the worst of them, but still...in the middle of all those fires, the last thing we needed was some idiots setting off fireworks in the middle of a dry field during the peak of fire season (high heat/low humidity). They were basically asking for it

People looking for likes/subscribers on their social media channels, that's how. For every big show one person puts on, the next feels the need to go bigger and better while what little common sense existed in the equation in the first place, goes out the window completely.

 

Our 'gender reveal' was calling/texting family members and sending them a pic of the results we got from the doctor. Lame, I know...

Not anymore lol. My IG is basically just a wall of baby photos with a couple cat pics and truck pics scattered throughout.

After she was born I went through my social media accounts and deleted a good 1/2 or more of everyone on there that I didn't really know, only keeping family and actual friends. Then privatized it. It's a good way to keep family/friends involved in ours and her life but I don't want a bunch of rando's involved.

When I was doing freelancing photo, it was all about 'networking' and friending everyone and anyone you could to try and promote your website and stuff, so I had a lot of rando's to delete. Felt good though lol.

 

Yeah I had the same mentality after I was posting pics of get togethers, family gatherings, etc.

Went private as well for that reason.

 

Yeah, need to create a separate account for all the insta glory stuff.

My application was thrown out for that job after the first interview because I didn’t have real world networking experience. They were really excited I’d be willing to work in person but when I revealed my lack of certs I could tell my chances were zero.

I would’ve had a TestOut Network Pro cert but COVID cancelled that course final. Not that it would’ve counted as real world experience.

 

If I ever were to do freelancing again I definitely would, or any kind of business social media for that matter. Keep 'em separate

I don't intend on ever freelancing again though, not primarily. That 24/7 hustle for gigs life is not for me lol, not anymore anyway.

 

Or worse, you need to intern - aka work for free - someplace for X number of years and maybe someday, they'll start paying you! (more than likely not though)

Internships can be a good thing but it is such a widely abused system at least around here
