Dumb question: do these work on an SR5? I’m guessing “No.”

    Curious as well.

instructions show everything needed to install correctly. Over 1000 people have done it using the same instructions.

not saying they there isn’t room for improvement but it’s pretty concise for each step

Would you qualify that as a launch problem or a design problem?

^^ Bonus points for anyone who can name the movie...

I’m getting power to my puddles and they work perfectly but are always on with the switch installed (in any switch mode) so I’m assuming I just plugged things not in the right order or I have a ground issue like some have mentioned (though they are full power and dimming as designed so maybe not?). Normally I would just trouble shoot myself and figure it out but I am swamped today with work and grad school - any quick tips that I should check so Ican button this up?

I tried to follow the instruction page but it was not very helpful. Cheers

Anyone have any luck modifying the backlighting in the switch to match the OEM blue?

Mine come on along with the interior lights every time they get wet. Also have the meso interior lights so have to manually turn them off until it dries out. I guess I'll caulk around them when I get some time. The passenger side had to be jbweld on because it was loose so this should be a simple from the outside seal. The driver's side light actually fell out but I stuck it back in and it has stayed. Here's hoping we get it all sealed up.

Both I suppose. Reducing the intensity is number 1, would be even better to match the colour if possible. I might try what you linked cause dimming with factory switches would be nice. Quick question, what size resistor are you using and what is "PWM"?

I am using a 2.7k ohm resistor. PWM is an acronym for pulse width modulation which, unless I am mistaken, is a means to adjust the power delivered by a circuit without changing current or voltage. The idea of PWM is a cycle of on/off where the ratio of on to off is changed. It’s one way to dim a non dimmable element such as an LED or a seat heater pad when you can’t drop voltage or current. In other words, the PWM supplies a series of pulses of variable width effectively allowing adjustment to the power delivered.

Below are my before and after images, I can try to get a shot of it in my driver cubby if you like but I think my Switch-Pros overpowers things too much to have that be terribly helpful.

    ETA: more photos.

Gotcha. So the am I correct in saying the factory switches use PWM to change their backlighting intensity so if I remove the ground that is currently used for the puddle light switch light and tie into a factory switch light ground I will get a dimmable light?

One ground on the switch connector is the dimmable ground.

Yes, this is what @Puppypunter did (and I copied). His excellent post describing which pin to use is the one I quoted, but I took the easy way out as I placed the resistor on the ground lead rather than power lead (doesn't matter which side you put it on and I was re-doing my 2 grounds anyway so I figured why mess with a perfectly good 4 pin connection.)
