It was actually built by the Factory and almost made production, the article said the Jeep Dealers threw a hissy fit and bitched and moaned that it would steal sales so it got canned.

The switch is annoyingly and distractingly bright at night...

 

A minivan never would have stolen sales from a Jeep...

 

You should be able to pop the switch face off from the switch body from there you can either put some bulb sleeves on the lights or paint the back of the switchface with some VHT lense tint to dim it down.

Other option is get a factory switch.

 

Agreed, it wouldnt have had much of an impact

 

I fixed it with tape until I can get a factory switch; Truck is due for an oil change in less than a thousand miles and my mechanic is putting on the

$190 add-a-leaf kit for 1995-2023 toyota tacoma - 21.5" short AAL set with isolator pads and square bend u-bolts

add-a-leaf kit too, so I’ll just have him put it in...

I have no idea how he got the switch in there!

 

Now put the 2.5L turbo 4 and 5-speed manual in there...

 

My USB cord shit the bed today, but luckily I had the new one I’d ordered on Amazon; After tearing the dash apart and doing a ton of troubleshooting, I also found out that the cooling fan in the Pioneer AVH-1550NEX that I installed in April 2020 was not functioning. I hooked up the 3-year old Pioneer AVH-1330NEX that I replaced with the 1550 because I thought it was malfunctioning, and it worked flawlessly! The 1550’s remote even works on the 1330!

My Bluetooth also works flawlessly, and my plan is to make an attempt at making a warranty claim on the 1550. Anyway, so I basically spent an hour and a half in the freezing cold troubleshooting my truck’s stereo, thought I’d pulled out the backup camera wire AGAIN, and accidentally hooked up the subwoofer wires incorrectly.

Turns out that RCA cords were just plugged into the wrong places, and now everything works great!

 

Electrical spaghetti, à la Toyota Tacoma...
