Nope. Only thing I remember it going in for besides maintenance was the recall for the tailgate cables and the little plastic clips in the tailgate handle kept breaking. Id replace them every 2 years or so myself for about $15 in parts and half an hour of my time. That engine/trans is actually still going with who knows how many miles on it in a friends suburban. Between my parents and I we've probably owned 20+ GM's ranging from 1969-2020. Ranging from work trucks to Corvettes to Cadillacs. Lots of Camaros. Never any real issues to speak of other than my moms 2005 Envoy Denali kept having leaks in the air suspension compressor. After warranty ran out we gave up and swapped a regular trailblazer suspension under it.

I guess there is just such a thing as a "lemon". The list is so long, I can't remember them all: 5x Steering Shaft, loud Driveline "clunk", from a stop, every time and was told it was "normal", rear side window replaced due to excessive wind noise (was a common complaint), 2 or 3 power window motors went out, sounded like it was going to sling a rod at cold start-up, was told it was "piston slap" and "normal", truck refused to idle one day and required a computer re-flash....and I know there's more because I literally have a binder full of receipts. I am generally pretty forgiving of faults in assembly line vehicles but that truck really stood-out because it left me stranded, more than once.

Yep sounds like you got one built on a monday.

The driveline clunk was "normal" as I was a service advisor for GM in 2008-ish. But its not to be dismissed, there is a PTFE lubricant that needs to be applied to the slip yokes. Very rarely will it do it again if you have the slip yokes lubricated every other maintenance. Im assuming the rear window you speak of was the small pop out window on an extended cab? If so yeah that was normal if you used them often because the latch assembly would lose tension. Horrible design. I never used mine so they never leaked. Window motors on GM's are common. I personally believe its because of the daisy chain wiring. The early LS motors were very noisy on cold starts. My 2005 5.3L LS out of my moms wrecked envoy is going into my camaro with an 88mm turbo bolted to it. 135k miles on it. We'll see exactly how much abuse it wants to put up with.

I hear you. There's an old joke that goes something like; "A chevy engine will run bad longer than most other engines run, period.". It was actually very disappointing experience because, in my opinion, the GMC version was a great looking truck. Mine was dark blue with the chrome, split 3 spoke wheels and gray leather interior. I've owned a lot of vehicles and can't remember one that drew more comments from strangers. As mentioned, it was a lease so I only kept it for the 3 years/45K miles and all that work was done in that time. Easy to day, but I promise I am not that picky.....it was just an over-ripe lemon.

I'm not to worried... my wife doesn't drive something that's going to cost us an arm and a leg and regardless the savings of over $400 a month beats spending a few dollars more a month for a single car policy.

    I did get a quote, was $28,000.

    Good to know.

Thankfully already got a quote, looks like it'll be slightly more then my deductible but I avoid the crash on my insurance history.

Yeah, likely not going to do that lol

Don’t know how late I am to the party lol
Just didn’t it again last month. Car lot gave me $30,000 on 2018 Tacoma off road with 32,000 miles on it. They paid off the lease put the rest towards my new truck. Go in bad weather or late they don’t even look at the vehicle just have deal worked out before you get there and make sure it’s a high volume dealer because they don’t give a shit the used one will only be on the lot for a couple of days. It may sound kinda dirty but my truck was in perfect PERFECT shape just wanted the locking tailgate and remote start. Also something I have done is go to a nicer used car lot and offer to sell it to them just a couple grand over pay off.

I leased a 2011 Sport double cab 4x4 until beginning of 2014. My price to purchase the truck was 19k, I told the dealer I wanted 24k trade in value and they didn't blink an eye. Purchased a leftover 2013 TX Pro for $800.00 over invoice, so 5k down on the new truck. I forget what the lease payment was but in all I didn't feel it was a horrible bad deal.
Bottom line is, your truck is most likely worth more than the buyout price at end of lease.
Carvana said they'd give 28k something did you ever say what your end of lease cost was?

Damn, I wish that would’ve happened to me! Free car at that point. And I’d be damn sure to tally up storage days and charge them $100/day (about the same you’d pay a tow yard) if they ever come and get it back
