I'd like to see how much the tires and wheels protrude the fender wells. Rear, looking from the back tail light, and front, from standing at the headlight, with wheels centered.

    Apologies for making things difficult.
*I have not gotten tires, yet*
The visuals will help me out a bunch.

I have pre facelift 5th gen 4Runner SR5 wheels. Same specs and running 265/70. No rub at all on stock AC truck. Read somewhere that the AC front end sits 1” higher than CC due to suspension geometry. Not sure how accurate that is but it’s something to worth considering when choosing tire size.

Monday is shoe fitting day. The narrowest, tallest possible on stock O/R suspension.
    At worst, 235/70/75R17.

New shoes today. Mounted on 5th Gen 17" (stock) 4R wheels.
I decided to stay stock tire height, mainly to not deal with speedometer re-calibration.
Les Schwab brand - (Mazama) Open Range A/T, 60,000mi wear warranty. P265/70R17.
I notice a little more road noise, but not much at all, considering the tread. They ride real nice.
    Here's a few pics.

so going to 265/70/17 vs stock 265/70/16 doesn't throw the speedo off? just wondering cuz i'd like to go with the 4 runner trd pro wheels which are 17" but this "tire size calculator" says it would change your actual speed. thanks for any input on this...

I run a stand-alone GPS, and compared with the digital and analog speedometer reading in the cluster, the difference was miniscule. IMO, close enough to stock, not worth worrying about.

Dependent on tire pressure, that "could" likely change slighty.

I had new 285s put on and used the inline calibrator from rough country also made by hypertech. It was easy for my tuner to get it dialed in. I ran 265/70/17s and the speedometer was always spot on perfect.

It's been a minute since I changed out, but it seems to me that my stock OR wheels were using a 265-75-16, and when I went to my 4R 17", I put 265-70-17, as a proper +1 tire wheel change, to maintain proper rolling circumference. This keeps same diameter, overall, with the difference being the wheel diameter and the size of the sidewall. Speedo was pretty much DNO with either set up.

As an aside, unless you have big brakes, generally any Toyota 6 lug 4x4 wheel will fit any Toyota 6 lug 4x4 hub, for about the last 50 years.
