TRD / Matte Red Anodize

 

I’m a little disappointed the black coloring isn’t as clean as the red. Anybody else with a black taco have this issue?

 

I thought maybe I had a one off, but mine seems the same..

 

I wonder why the black isnt as crisp as the red

 

We didn't get enough buyers for the 25%GB discount? Oh well, some discount is better than none.

 

I'd purchase if I knew it would help the group. Been on the fence about ordering one. Matte black? Matte red? Does it look pink? Anodized red? <--- my fav Then I would need to replace the chrome around the buttons too

Got mine today!... but got the wrong red. I ordered machined anodized red but got matte red.

 

Alright - so what am I not doing right to get the push button out of the housing? All that I’m getting is a bent tool and starting to get worried I’m going to mess up the button somehow. Any tips you all can offer up?

I also think I got matte red - not anodized, but need to look at it again. It’s in the truck right now.

 

I too got a matte red rather than the anodized, but to be honest I think it looks pretty good.

As for the install, I felt like a simpleton because of how much I struggled. What I eventually did was remove the chrome around the button first (just pry it off on the side), and then used the tool at the 9 o'clock position along with a small knife at the 3 o'clock position to pop it out.

 

Finally got it. Man - that was not the easiest, but perhaps i was being overly cautious with it. I like the look of this, and the flat is fine - I do like it.

Interesting that everyone is getting flat though??

 

Same here, ended up with the matte but left it instead of trying to get the old start button on the truck. Still looks awesome.

 

Received and installed mine. Took a while to take out the OEM button with the tool. A little disappointed, noticed an imperfection...a deep scratch by the 3rd hole and paint didn't cover part of the groove. Hate to complain, but for the price of the button, there should be some sort of quality check.

 

Yes, it sticks out more than the stock.
