I bet that if we go thru year by year, it will flip flop. Lets face it. Reliability is not a Toyota problem.

If I am not mistaken, it's the pro-4x only that comes with a rear locker, so until that version comes out you won't see one.

Yeah it’s definitely a good value. It’s no joke off road either.

I know I am most likely in the minority, but I really do like this generation better in looks. I am sure the new one will have tons of improvements. But the new ones is basically a Colotaconger

The one they showed was the Pro-4X. I didn't see any controls for a locker. Although, they didn't show the ceiling at all, if it is up there.

promo pics are never for a complete vehicle, they take pieces of different models. Kinda like Fords new Bronco sasquatch was being displayed without any drivetrain, lol. considering the stiff competition, there is no way it's not coming with a locker.

A little bit, but not enough. compare the grille shapes, and the back window. Both the headlights and tail lights are different enough too. But to be honest, I'd rather have what the Hilux styling than the current iteration of the new Frontier. It is just not for me. Bless it's heart, but it is hideous. To each their own though. Someone may like this. They can have bad taste. That is okay with me.

Styling takes time to get used to. When the 2nd gen Taco debuted in 2005, people called it bug-eyed. When 3rd gen debuted half a decade ago, people hated the oversized grille and protruding "chin". Going by Tundra spy shots, I'm sure Toyota has something more hideous planned for the 4th gen Taco that'll make the Frontier look ok by comparison.

That's exactly why I was surprised. But, again, I know the focus was more on the truck itself. However, no model, other than the Pro-4X was shown. But, the details will all come out sooner or later.

I'm pretty sure the Pro4X has a locking diff. E-locker, just like the Taco

You're correct. The Pro-4X has a locking rear diff (although I haven't seen where the control is located), but the Pro-X will not.

It's actually waaay down the left side of the steering column, 4th row, next to the VSC OFF switch. Click on this picture for full-size image, and zoom in:

Maybe Nissan wants you to activate the locker with your knee, since it's just above the parking brake pedal

I am not in the market for a new truck, but I think Nissan did a decent job on the re-design. Should have kep the MT, oh well. Anyway, I wonder if the Nissan fanboi sites will be full of 4.0 vs 3.8 crap

I'm fully prepared for this to be a bannable offense, but

    I don't like the 2nd gen taco

I was semi excited about the Ranger when it was being hyped up for release, then when I saw how it looked I lost all interest. The front end looks like a damn Ford Taurus and no crew cab with a long bed.
