Quick reminder since we’re on page 4 of useless banter.

This thread is about the initial oil change on a new Tacoma, not about what your grandpas diesel mechanic told you about what “Cummins” means to grandma.

No not at my dealer at 5k was oil change and tire rotation. I checked on both to make sure it was done. Just had my 10k service done and it was both an oil change and tire rotation again I checked to make sure work was done plus both were free part of Toyota dealer service.

Yea I wonder if this is more related to my dealer then what other dealers do. In my opinion my dealership is pretty good and really go out of their way to take care of their customer base. I’m pretty sure they are probably an exception to the dealership dooshbag rule.

Call it sexist if you want but even on cars that i dont plan on keeping for a long time i typically maintain the hell out of. writing it off as "Lots of people do it" You are passing on a problem to another person who may not have the money to buy new, may have lost their job and needs reliable transportation all because you wanted to save a few bucks... Tells volumes about who you are.

In 58 years of driving I have followed the manufacturers recommendations without incident. Imo it’s a waste of money to exceed that. Just use a quality oil and filter.
