Haha yeah I imagine I’m on my own getting schematics. But I think I could reverse engineer it enough from the cable sled spec sheet

$150 for a couple OEM axles in good shape (just one boot torn) is a great deal though

 

I did have one bad experience buying used OEM axles though...the only axle I've ever actually 'blown' was a used OEM one from a buddy on here. Fucking inner tulip just grenaded. Probably a fluke though

 

Yeah; be a perfect trail spare.

I already have an OEM spare that needs a new boot but will be nice to have one that's ready.

What if I don't break my high angle cv axles though

 

That would be ideal but the peace of mind that comes with having good spares goes a long way

 

I saw a stupidly convenient way to carry a spare without taking up real estate; plano case attached to the roof rack.

Not something I'll do unless its a trip where there's technical wheeling involved or a long distance thing.

 

yeah that would be a good place, I just keep mine in their box in the tool kit lol. Not that I have a roof rack on anymore, but I learned putting heavy shit up on the roof isn't always fun to deal with...couple axles in a Plano case won't be heavy but won't be light. I guess you could just grab one out though and leave the case up. I'll never understand people that put their 33"+ spare tires on the roof

Yeah I'd only carry one axle.

If I broke two on a trip I'm either being an idiot and deserve both to break, or got some bad karma coming my way.

Yeah I still see the tire on the roof thing; in fact I saw a 35 or similar on the roof of a Jeep

He/she had removed the tire carrier from their tailgate.

 

well, Jeeps also like to mount their Hi Lifts on the hood right under the windshield for some completely unknown reason so I'm not surprised

Just imagine a Hi Lift launching off the hood in a wreck, or going backward through the windshield...ouch.

 

Especially when they have n3rF bArz

 

Think it'd be a cool thing to race koh; no idea how long it's take to build a 4400 truck or similar with the price tag and work involved. Insane

 

Well, the higher the price tag the lower amount of work you have to do

 

I mean, you can use it as a makeshift winch...but fuck that noise.
