Been totally happy with my rci aluminum skid. Banged pretty hard a couple times in Moab and held up well. I'd go steel if it was a dedicated rock crawling rig but it isnt

Quick question - I know nothing about welding... At the knuckle, where the manifold connect is, why so many welds? Is it too difficult to shape a piece of pipe at that angle?

    Again, just genuinely curious. :anonymous:

I think it is done as a substitute for bending pipe if you don't have the means to do so. And it looks cool.

Reminds me of how high end titanium systems are built

Looks like a compound bend to me. Also a serious flex on the welding skills

Pie cuts are an alternative to pipe bending, and allow you to create curves that maintain pipe diameter without super expensive equipment. Labor vs tools.

Yeah, my welder liked to flex his TIG skills. :D
He's made some beautiful exhausts for supercars, much like the Bugatti exhaust Wreckless posted above.

    That’s a re-route? That’s where my stock y-pipe is routed on my 2007.

edit: or is it just slung higher a bit?

Contemplating a 2012+ facelift. Are there fiberglass or carbon fiber options for a 12-15 hood? Could probably save some money but more importantly weight over an OEM one but but search hasn’t turned up any. Just one digit piece with a ridiculous scoop and fake louvers, yuck!

Soooooo I got locked behind a gate out in greenwater and I can’t get out. Any ideas? The site is managed by Hancock and was open for recreation. I drove past the chick that locked me in and she didn’t feel the need to tell me she was going to lock the gate behind me
