Still confused about that one myself. Apparently out of the 10 people at the intersection I was the only one paying attention.

    I hope you are ok.

That is my biggest fear with my second gen. Purchased new, I couldn’t replace its value with another in the current market.

Glad you are not seriously injured. Good detail on the dashcam. I've watched the footage a couple of times. Good that the vehicles crumpled so the people could walk away with minor or no injury.

She is entering the intersection (against the red) at 0.22 seconds in the vid with significant speed. At that time, you haven't reached the cross walk. A hard stab on the brakes may have avoided the impact. I'm not chastising you......just an observation. A second or 2 is all that is needed to avoid an accident. Keep them eyes moving.

Don't misunderstand me. I have a habit of reviewing accidents. As a motorcycle rider, my eyes always have to be scanning especially at intersections. I review vids like this to help me become a more alert rider and driver. Something coming in from your left is most important to see and the least amount of reaction time. Something coming from the right has a longer time for reaction because you have half an intersection of distance before impact.

First and foremost. Glad your upright and breathing although sore I’m sure. No witness because everyone nowadays is to busy with the face in their damn phones. Just glad everyone is ok.

How does that camera work? Does it work on a loop so that you can save images from so many minutes before? Or does it record constantly and sends it to something that stores it? Glad you had that operating, it clearly shows you had the green.

Holy smokes...there was no question that other driver wasn’t paying attention. Your light was green the whole length.

I understand you and I don't disagree. But I slammed on my brakes at the crosswalk...you can see the hood dip at about the exact time my bumper is on the furthest line of the crosswalk, I also turned the wheel to the right just before impact. But I was going 35-40 mph so the fraction of a second of action didn't accomplish much, maybe it did prevent a direct impact on the driver side door.
I think I could've determined the other vehicle didn't have time to stop if it was daytime and possibly avoided it by absolutely flooring my brakes....maybe. But at dark, I don't think I had much of a chance of determining the speed based solely on two stray headlights and then accomplishing enough of a slowdown to avoid.
But out of all the hypotheticals, mostly I wish McDonalds would've taken 5 seconds longer to give me my coffee and muffin.

Ugh! This sucks! Glad you're okay (somewhat anyway). Double glad you had a dash cam! I bought one about six months ago. Haven't needed it yet, but it's nice knowing it's there.

Damn dude, sorry to hear about the truck, but glad you are ok. I just totaled my 09 on icy roads (rolled it onto the passenger side) and these things retain value like crazy. My insurance cut me a check for 6k less than I bought it for in 09. Hope you have the same luck

WTF was she thinking? I thought the video would show the light had just turned green for you, and you went and she blew past the red......but that light had been green for days......wow

    Hope you are ok!

Man, I hate it for you, but really glad you aren't hurt worse. I'm wanting to get the same tire set up and similar cap down the line.

As for this he said, she said bullshit, I hate liars. If someone gives false testimony of no wrong doing in an accident and is then proven wrong by camera, bystanders, etc, they should lose their license for 6 months.

My sister had the same thing happen to her and she had no way to prove she had the green light. She now has a newer car and a front and rear dash cam.
