Hey I am new to this site but I have been looking around and am sort of lost with all the different options. I got myself a 2011 Tacoma access cab Prerunner 4 cylinder RWD and would like to lift it 3" and install 285 70R R17 wheels. The only thing I care for is reliability and aesthetics so I do not plan on towing, going off road, which is why I went with the 4 cylinder model (Also cuz it was significantly cheaper). I would prefer not to do any trimming of any kind and am aiming for zero to extremely minimal rubbing. What lift kit best suits my needs?!?!?!

P.S: If you plan on roasting me for driving such a 4cyl RWD, at least provide some useful information in the process. I am just happy to finally own a Tacoma :) My past two cars were corollas.

Add OME 883 coils if you want.

It isn’t a leveling kit. Leveling kits are spacers.

Also, avoid a 3” lift, go 2.5” if you want to be lifted high. 3” rides like a jackhammer, increases wear on CVS and will require UCAs which eat almost all of your budget by themselves.

There is an entire subforum for suspensions, I’d read for a couple weeks.

Just call/PM Marie @HeadStrong Off-Road as she has the best info/prices

Like mentioned above you will probably want to do Bilstein 5100s (preferably with aftermarket coils) and AAL.

Hmm okay sounds good but I will definitely look more into it. Would 285 70R R17 wheels with 0 offset fit with Bilstein 5100s, with aftermarket coils and AAL?

Too many variables. Chances are they will rub in reverse and while offroading. At a bare minimum you will have to get a heat gun and reshape your fender liners. Might have to do a CMC too.

Welcome to TW! Depends on the budget of course but a Bilstein/Old Man Emu combo is great for the price.

Would I need to also get the " Front Top Plate Spacer (1/4" thick spacer)" along with the "differential drop kit"? Looked into it a bit but there seems to be mixed answers.

So I had bilstein 5100 with toytec coil overs in front with bilstien 5100 and toytec add-a-leaf in the rear. For wheels I got 17x9 -6mm offset ProComp and 285 70 r17 BFGoodrich KO2 10ply tires. I am very satisfied with the look although the tires barely rub on the front plastic in reverse it is not a big deal.

The only issue is that the kit raised my truck more than anticipated. I believe I got about 2.5 inches in the rear and 3.5 inches in the front which means I think I am going to have to install aftermarket UCA's. I wanted to avoid purchasing them because they went over my budget but the steering wheel drives extremely tight and on heavyyy bumps I believe my stock UCA's make contact with the front coils.

I do not plan on going off-road! I want something that will keep my steering wheel from pulling so much while driving and something that wont break the bank. Please give me multiple options at different price ranges if you can. If you could also explain what camber and caster means for the UCAs' recommended that would be great. Also any other tips or advice will be great.

I thought the toytecs were adjustable? Why not just lower the truck an inch in the front?

Would that cause my tires to rub at an extreme amount?

Considering I did not install the lift and don't know how, It will cost! And I would not want to pay to have it adjusted and then readjusted. I will give the shop a call to see if they could do it inclusive with the first charge, if not, then yeah I would rather use that money on aftermarket UCA's.
