Ya. However, from the packaging to the actual product quality I was very happy with what Westcott provided. Funny that they didn’t include any instructions but anyone buying this kit probably did a bunch of homework and research. All in all a good deal. I was a little surprised at the shipping cost but...oh well. I’m also really impressed by the ride quality after the install. (I’m a little bothered by the fact that they used an impact (in the video) to remove the top nut of the fox strut. It’s pretty common knowledge that you don’t want that piston rod to spin so you should use the proper tools to remove and install that nut. I bet only 10% of Techs actually use the right tool and I bet there is probably a 5% or less premature failure rate due to spinning the rod.

Man, I know exactly what you mean about the shipping, my eyes about popped out of my head! That being said, I am totally happy with the outcome. I’m working in Tucson right now, so I went ahead and ordered some Wescott sliders since I can drive up to their shop and pick them up. I’d hate to think how much shipping would be!

I think the kit is like $350.

Kinda off topic, but I get to pick up my Wescott sliders on Feb 5 at their shop in Phoenix. Kinda excited to see the place where all the magic happens. There’s probably a good chance that I’ll pick up some additional goodies. Their roof rack look pretty nice. If I didn’t already have a Prinsu...

    Yep,

It rode amazing with up to about 500lbs with option 1, (Softopper, Bedrack, platform and 175lbs of dog)

Went on a long trip with 750+lbs and it was sitting lower in the rear than the 1.5" front.

Put on option 3 now that I have a cap and rear bumper. It's a little bit stiffer but it handles the RTT weight better

Long story short, RXT is great, worth it, much more capable and comfortable than stock.

Good god! What magnificent beasts. They probably eat more than my kids do. I love that they’re just lounging, taking up your entire couch.

They eat a ton, we order their food from chewy.com, so I’m pretty sure the ups man hates us!

If you watch the video you'll see it's very straight forward as long as you have all the tools. I fortunately have a lift which makes things a lot easier but even if you have a floor jack and jack stands it's very doable by the home mechanic. No special tools needed, just time. One thing to keep in mind, Mark how your top strut mount lines up with the bottom strut mount. Keeping the two close when you reassemble your strut makes installing the strut back into you vehicle easier. If the lower mount is off a bit once you reinstall the upper, you've got some adjustment room to twist the bottom unless your way off than it can be a bit difficult. It's kinda hard to explain that so hopefully you'll just pay attention while your doing it and it will make sense. Also, I have a Wall mount strut compressor but a set of $20 Spring compressors off of Amazon worked better than my wall mount. Other than that make sure your batteries are charged if your using rechargeable tools. Oh, And if your doing the Blocks on the rear axle, Only loosen one side at a time!

Thanks for the tip on marking the strut mount and what to look for. I’m going to have to pick me up a pair of spring compressors or borrow hopefully. Luckily I’ll be using air tools so it’s a little easier.

I bought this set of spring compressors from Amazon for $29.95 Used them for my truck now I’ve added them to all the other compressors we have at work and I like these the best. Except for the vehicles that require their own special compressors.
As for Air Tools. You can’t really fit a air ratchet on the top strut nuts. Use a Ratchet Wrench if you have it. I really don’t like using an impact to remove and install the Strut nut that holds the Upper mount to the Strut but since it’s my rig I did. We are trained to use the right tools to hold the piston rod and wrench off the nut by hand. Takes forever but shock manufacturers are really uptight about spinning that rod and losing the warranty. And I’m not gonna be the idiot that eats that one. Also, I would loosen and tighten the two bolts that hold the lower ball joints on by hand. At least be sure to get the threads started by hand. Air is handy for removing the nuts from the rear leaf spring u-bolts. Zipped them off but installed the new ones with a ratchet than Torque wrench. I really like the quality of the U-bolts Westcott sent. Not cheap crap but really nice u-bolts. Pay attention to how your lower control arm loosens up so it’ll swing down and out of the way. Mark your Alignment tabs. My truck drove better after I did the install than it does now with a fresh alignment.

In that case I’ll just rent a lift at a local diy shop. That’s a few more tools than I have. Thanks for those great tips I’ll be careful using the air tools on this project. Glad to hear the westcott kit is good quality
