Been quite amazed at the variety of grinder styles they build. I’m going to have to do some additional searching and studying. But definitely appreciate the real world feedback as it’s things like this that can be frustrating to find out after you’ve already invested!

I can’t comment on the M18 but we do run Milwaukee grinders at work, two 4 1/2” ones. Keep a cut off wheel on one and a flap disc on the other. I’ll put a grinding disc on if I need it but rarely use one. No problems with the paddle handles. They’ve been good, have a bone yard and a backup too

The only problem I see with the bigger one is if you have a thick welding glove on it may be harder to push the safety in but don’t know for sure, never used one like that.

Morning shop crew, I had lazy day yesterday and didn't keep up well here at TW.
Good to see 6.5 not in the clink.
I like the 5" angle grinder that I dug up out of the trash, brand new Metabo. The cord must have had been damaged at the plug, put new one on and good to go.
Drove to Lincoln yesterday and bought a new Walmart AGM battery for my 2017 Tacoma. Those factory batteries don't seem to last long, as I usually see a battery lasting at least 5 years:notsure:

It’s a hit or miss with batteries anymore it seems. I keep testing mine and it keeps passing battery tests

ive been running a dewalt corded 4 1/2 for probably 10 years or so. It has a similar paddle to the 4.5 Milwaukee and I find it easy to use with thicker gloves on. I’ve put 2 sets of brushes in it and changed the grease in the gear assembly, but other than that it has been great. I’m assuming the Milwaukee will be just as good.

I just got to wondering what size angle grinders come in and welder dude informed me that my Metabo is a 6" and I believe he's correct.

Yeah the batteries are def hit or miss. My truck battery lasted 6 / 7 ish years. My wife's car a 2012 had the factory batt from Japan a couple months back. Couldn't believe a batt would last that long. That's 8 years. Then my dad's car had his batt just go out and it was from 2011 and it died last month. Crazy how some are so short. I've ran into some good long ones lately.

My son will love this. Made it so it can be taken apart and stored. Put some screws to keep the targets from walking. .22 and BB gun here he comes!

That's very nice and should last a good long time. I made a target stand that I could slip a piece of cardboard in, then I put paper plates with a 1" dot on the cardboard.
Thing is, from young to old seems like everyone gets a jolly from shooting a leg or frame part. It's pretty shot up now, need another

I've made a couple other targets, one is just a square plate hanging from chains and the other is a dueling target, they do good but the dueling target is big and heavy.

Here's Cole shooting the swinging target last year, he's 8. When he got done he said "dad, that would be easier to hit if it wasn't moving"
