I am also thinking of signing up for GrubHub and PostMates. I tried to sign up for Amazon one time, but I was instantly rejected because I drive a pickup truck and a not something “like a Honda Civic” (Amazon’s words)...

 

As stated the other day, I will NEVER do Walmart deliveries again because Walmart doesn’t bother to inform its customers that a DoorDash driver will be dropping the order, and I don’t want to face an armed homeowner who thinks I’m a porch pirate!

 

DoorDash seems to have gotten the message that I refuse to do Walmart orders, because I haven’t gotten even once since the deluge I got on January 31st!

 

Places I refuse to pickup orders from and why...

• Chick-Fil-A because every single one of them is an overcrowded circus!
• Walmart because of the reason listed above!
• McDonald’s when I have to use the bathroom because all of them have closed their public bathrooms due to the pandemic (the one exception is the fairly new one in Warrington, which will let customers use the bathroom)!

 

Some franchised fast food places have entirely shut down indoor dining and the ability to walk into the restaurant and do takeout; This forces Dashers to use the drive-thru, and depending on the time of day, this can really be a waste of time. If a drive-thru line is too long, I will cancel the the job and leave.

I cancelled an order walked out of a Wendy’s (may have been a Burger King; I forget) just outside of Philly because the staff was taking their sweet time with my order and they also expected me to get the drink myself (highly unsanitary due to the ongoing pandemic in my opinion).

 

I also cancelled an order and walked out of the Doylestown Panera Bread where I saw the Prius because there were two people ahead of me, there was nobody at the register, and it was just taking too damn long!

People do not seem to realize how value a Dasher’s time is; We have to keep moving if we want to turn a profit!

 

Another issue I’ve faced is one resident in a household (husband, wife, son, daughter, etc) ordering from DoorDash without notifying anyone else in the house; At best, this results in a confused individual answering the door but ultimately accepting the order...

At worst, I encounter a situation like my third Walmart order on January 31st where the wife ordered cleaning stuff without telling the husband; The husband saw me back into their driveway, and in his infinite wisdom decided to walk up to my truck and just stand there until I turned around and saw him...

If I were up to no good, I’d be very sneaky about it!

 

Word to the wise; DON’T SNEAK UP ON ME OR OTHERWISE SURPRISE ME!

I tend to go a little bit easier on people like my boss and coworkers, and strangers who don’t know me (like the guy whose wife ordered from Walmart without telling him), but I once grabbed a friend by the neck and slammed him against the wall when he snuck up on me and yelled in my ear three different times in the span of ten or fifteen minutes.

Don’t startle me, especially not on purpose and especially not if you know me and thus know I don’t like being snuck up on; At that point, you have no M-effing excuse!

I once ran a background check on myself and it took like five minutes; You have no bloody excuse!

 

I haven't had Chuck E. Cheese pizza since the 1990s; I could put it away back then, but after years of eating legit gourmet pizzas I don't think I'd like it too much now...
