My DB SE is set for delivery Tuesday through Thursday of next week.
DB recommends the temperature remain above 50 (Fahrenheit) for 24 hours to allow the silicone to cure.
Temperatures for those days (the highs) here in Atlanta are between 55 and 65. However, the lows dip into the 30s.
Did anyone install their DB while the temperature dipped below 50? If so, any issues?

If you can, park your truck in the garage. I had to tell my wife to park outside while I park the truck in the garage for a couple days.

I did awhile back. Might still have two of the anchors left over since they sell in a 4-pack. I'll check if you are interested. See my pics below. I also have an SE and needed extra tie downs.

And...how it sits today with a recent addition...

Looks great. Was it difficult? I imagine it's simply drilling.

Yeah, just drilling. Daunting at first. You can see I measured and made the template so both sides were the same. I think this was the first time I was drilling into my Diamondback, so I was thorough. Easy enough though. I love having them there. Great for tie downs, or a lazy hammock afternoon.

Thought you guys might be interested in how my project is developing... My rack will be a hybrid between a Front Runner and Prinsu/UpTop roof racks. Each rack will operate independently of each other so that each panel can open fully, but can be used together obviously...

What you see here are my rack sides. I am still trying to decide if I want to use the triangle cut outs or not... I don't know if I dig the look, but I do think they would be handy for light tie down work.

Anyway, these sides will be tied together with 80/20 crossbars. Then, the whole thing will mount to the diamondback using 40mm Front Runner feet on Front runner rails.

I am assuming this is going to have an overall low total height from the top of the cover based on the frontrunner feet and rails.

I would say pass on the triangle cutouts, as it might not be too terribly strong, but maybe another design with notches to be able to bungee stuff to, like the groovetek.

I'm starting to agree... I plan on lining the edges of the diamondback with L-track... so I will have plenty of tie down options.

When it comes to tightening the nuts on the rods I have found that the right amount of pressure to be applied is two cinder blocks on top of a towel. My wife, through no fault of her own, was either applying too much pressure or not enough.

I kept tweaking on mine but couldn't make the passenger front side pull down like I wanted. When I was able to get the passenger side to latch it was too loose. So I took a scrap piece of aluminum & fashioned a striker plate for the passenger side front panel. Now it pulls down nice from the drivers side.

A little trial & error... a bench vise, hammer, tin snips & file then finished it with some rattle can bedliner. I modeled it after the DiamondBack rear striker plates. It's attached using the screw inside the bedrail. Mine isn't as robust as DB's but it still works and don't think it sticks out far enough to snag a forearm while reaching in. I posted the dimensions for my 2Gen... not sure if it'll work for 3Gen tho.

Would someone with the 8 inch drop in tray be kind enough to get a couple of measurements for me?

Trying to determine if my maxtrax will slide into this slot. Pic is from @TomTD Hope that's ok.20210219_012615.jpg

Also, could you measure the space under the 8 inch tray to the bed floor? Trying to determine if my standard 2 gal gas can just might slide under there.

    Thanks in advance.

I happened to take these the other day while planning what I can fit behind and under my 8 inch bin.

FYI, my bin is pushed up against the factory tie down points at the back of the bed which are just out of frame on the bed sides. The bin could be slid either direction to increase or decrease the space between the bin and bulkhead. Remove the tie down points and it could be more flush with the bulkhead. It can be pushed further towards the tailgate a few inches with no problem

I also have a bed mat if so take that into account for the under bin measurement.
