Cool concept. $55,000 starting price though, it could be over $75,000 optioned out with dealer markup.

Air ride suspension with adjustable ride height at the push of a button seems like it should be a great idea off road. But the dirty secret is that the higher you go, the less suspension travel you get. Which is the exact opposite of what you need and actually makes it terrible for off road.

First year models scare me personally. All my friends and family in the Detroit area have always pre-ordered new models and spent countless hours returning to the dealership for silly fixes. Almost like they didn’t learn there lesson the first time.

I have a very early reservation and pushed mine until 2022 because I want the black hard top.
I am getting the 2DR, BadLands, 2.7, Auto, High interior, Sasquatch (really just for the 4.7 gearing).
Will go aftermarket for lift. All four corners are on coil overs and 37's.

I really like the new bronco, only thing keeping me from getting one is that it's rather small and I've had some bad experiences with new ford's. Definitely would not buy one off the lot whether it was a first release or otherwise. It's cool to see what Ford is doing with it either way. As much as I respect Toyota their current vehicle lineup is antiquated at best. And with regards to sticker shock...I almost had a heart attack when I saw the sticker price for a new TRD Pro Sequoia

Everything part that Bronco has, is a proven part, suspension, axles, motor, transmission, brakes etc... except fo da electronics.

Toyota doesn’t even offer an optional trailer brake controller on their tow package.
I wouldn’t look for them upping the factory options list.

Lol seems like over the last 10 years at least all other manufacturers have been innovating and moving forward while toyota is just sitting here charging way too much for very little, taking advantage of the fanboyism just like jeep; except jeep is innovating faster than toyota. Toyota can't even make anything new without teaming up with subaru, bmw, or honda etc. The fact that toyota can't even make a proper sports car without teaming up with subaru or bmw tells me that they have either forgotten their roots or they just don't give a shit.

The people complaining about the lack of a V8 in the bronco and the I3 1.5 motor in the bronco sport crack me up because they're complaining about the lack of a V8 while more than likely jerking off their V6 Toyota truck. The V8 is quickly becoming a thing of the past and won't be around much longer, it sucks but americans keep voting people into power who have no understanding of the environment or mechanics and don't seem to realize that you can create a "green" V8 or any other motor for that matter so we're gonna get stuck with smaller more boring motors. But...technology has improved so much that the 1.5 3 cylinder everybody is talking shit about makes as much HP and almost as much torque as toyotas 3.4 V6 so I don't see what the big deal is. The new tundra will have a V6 and the people complaining about the lack of a V8 in the bronco will still buy one or covet one.

First off, I will not talk about the "Bronco Sport"; while a lot of people like them, there are many more small SUVs I would buy before the sport.

I got on the 'reservation' list earlyish because it was 100% money back and only $100, which locked you in at paying MSRP (depending on your dealer) and not being subject to additional dealer markup (there will be some people that have to have one early and will pay whatever they can to get one). I used to have a '73 Bronco and while it was beat to death.\, brought back to life and beat to death again when I was done with it, I have fond memories of it, and would love to have one again. I had been planning to buy a small/mid-size truck for the past few years but needed to get some other debt out of the way first. Summer 2020 things looked better for me and then Ford does the Bronco reservation thing. I did it for the reason I stated above and continued shopping for the Tacoma and Colorado deals. I think I got wrapped up with hype on the Bronco, but Ford did go after the Wrangler, hard! It appears to be a VERY capable off-road vehicle from the factory; I'm not saying it's the best compared to heavily modded 4x4s, but from the factory, decently capable. Then I heard delivery would begin around mid-2021, I was turned off since I was planning to buy a truck around the new year. Originally I was finding it hard to spend close to $40k for a Tacoma, but the build/price for the Bronco for me seemed to all run around $49-50k. Made the Taco a better deal in my opinion! Obviously I ended up with a '21 Tacoma and love it; no buyers remorse which I usually get with most vehicles I've bought, but what to do with the Bronco reservation...

A couple of weeks ago my local Ford dealer called me to come in and 'convert' my reservation to an order and I told him I was out of town and to reach back out to me in a few more weeks. That time is getting close and I'm wondering what to do with it...my wife chimes in saying maybe she will want it but I don't think it's realistic, especially being the first model year...that's prone for issues.

I think I would rather one of the original 66-77 Broncos over the ''new" Bronco but they're going for much more than they're worth to me so in the meantime, I'll talk to the dealer to see if they'll let me order it without being serious; I think it will give them one to sell way over MSRP...

You’d be better off buying a Tacoma set up for off-roading.

We all love our Tacos but we’re also all thinking the same thing: Toyota needs to up their game and offer upgrades and have shorter time between product cycles. Also further differentiate their Pro from the rest of the trim level: my two cents worth is from the factory 400 HP/Torque, 33s/35s, beefier suspension, more aggressive body...etc(add your wish list). Just my opinion.
