One reason only. More room for wires, I have a speed wire harness. Double gives you more up/down screen location options. So I'd recommend the double. There is enough room for wires. I didn't need the extra room.

So just to clarify? Which providers work? T-Mobile and verizon?

    Only T-Mobile.

The issue is that the other providers require IMEI numbers to compare to their predetermined list of sanctioned numbers. IMEI number is like a serial number, but it lets verizon or att know if the device is "officially" compatible. The IMEI number on these devices won't show up on official lists. T-Mobile works, because they don't care if its "officially" compatible or not. These units should work on verizon and att networks, but those providers just won't give you a sim because it isn't on thier officially support list of devices. A work around is if you had an old verizon or att lte device that you could use its IMIE number from, is a possibility, though I haven't done this myself.

The IMEI is transmitted to the carrier so they would know the IMEI.

most carriers don’t truly care about the device, it is likely more about what bands are supported and available. T-Mo is a worldwide provider so they support quite a lot with their sims. They also use a broader frequency range. But AT&T should work fine as well.

Well my unit finally came today! Install was relatively simple. Only tricky part was figuring out where to mount the brackets for proper depth. I ended up drilling one hole in each bracket to make it work.

Also, for anyone wondering, this worked perfect with the anytime back and front camera mod.

I have their 10.1" screen it fits flush, fitment is for a corolla fits perfect. Everything works as it should, front cam any time mod works straight from this head unit. Set the mode button as a command and turns my camera on.

That looks great. Are you going to share your background specifics too? Mostly the player/overlay that I see on the right. :D

It's certainly come a long way since the first time I used it years ago. I ended up building my own but that player/overlay would certainly be tricky. I wonder what this looks like in a 2nd gen considering the clock is below.

Only thing I can't figure out is the kph to mph and celsius to fahrenheit. The guage cluster in the dash can be set to the standard imperial measurements and I can get the launcher to display mph but the unit itself wants to measure everything in metric and my tire pressure on the unit is displayed in KPA. Any help on getting those changed would be great.

I just installed this on my 2008 Tacoma a few minutes ago. Very simple install. It's a huge upgrade over the stock CD changer that I haven't used in years.

One huge issue with it for me is I cant figure out how to change volume... My truck has no steeringwheel controls and there isn't even a software knob I can find. Might have to rig up some sort of nonsense solution with the unused steering wheel volume control cable in the back

You can simply tap the volume icon in the top right corner of the screen to manually access the volume control. Joying does also sell a steering wheel control with buttons that you can strap onto your steering wheel or mount elsewhere.

Thanks for the tips. Yea I'd hate to be driving down the highway and have the sound shoot up too loud and be unable to turn it down. I'll check again for the volume icon but I didn't see it while looking for 5 min.

Not a huge fan of those 3rd party steeringwheel controls, but it's nice to see there are options.

    cheers

What's the best way to add storage and sync the music to a home plex server? I have 500GB of music I'd like to sync to this'
I know SD cards and USB thumbdrives can have slow index / boot speeds on phones.
