Are you easterners getting all of those ads for leaf guards for your house gutters? DUH? My Dad put some on his house in Missouri - and like a good good boy I cleaned them off for mom a couple of years - then removed and dumped them in the trash with other useless items. They just provided another place for leaf litter to accumulate and then dam the water into the roofing. Worthless.

One of her neighbors showed me a gadget he made with conduit (?) - shepherds crook with garden hose attachment on the long side to wash things toward the exit. He didn't have end caps on his set-up either - which allowed washing everything out the ends. We sold the home before I got a chance to try that out but my brother-in-law says he's going to try it on their place. No leafy trees near my house in AZ - and in Wyoming the pine needles all blew away

    Morning all

Yeah I've tried those, also tossed them. We have trees all around the house.

I have the crooked neck high pressure attachment never thought of removing the endcaps.

    Morning all,

no end caps hmmm. That’s something to ponder right there. At least with these temps it’s rare that we have snow at the same time so no need to be out if you don’t need to be.

I got birds and critters to feed so I’ll be out later on

it’s a new day, make the best of it. Be safe!

I hear there was a football game? Something about commercials? Dunno, don't care. I stopped watching football a long time ago because of the violence and misogyny. Don't miss it.

I agree with those who say a professional should do what they're paid to do during the times they're being paid to do it, and save the personal/political stuff for when they're off the clock. But I think that attitude marks me as old; everywhere I look these days I see people shoving their personal feelings into everything they do. I have to watch what I say at work because of it. Seems like these days finding some way to be a victim is the thing to do. Time to retire I guess.

Mike you would have loved that Crary Bearcat. The augers and impeller were 1/4" steel. All rods and screw adjustments, not a cable to be found on the thing. Weighed a ton. Total bear to heave around. We had a long love/hate relationship. I almost wish I had kept it just because it was so amazingly stout.

I have a ranch style house ,so I get up on the roof a couple-three times a year with the backpack blower and take care of business with the gutters. Easy-peasy and the leaders are blown out as well.
My next house when I relocate will also be a ranch.

Do NOT like that!!!! BBBBBRRRRRRRRRRR sure don't miss those temps

I had to ask my doc, but didn't get it there.... got first one yesterday and the chills 12 hrs later.... you'd have thought I had Parkinsons when I went to wash my hands - they were shaking so hard couldn't get them under the water. Thankfully they were gone when I got up.

 It was done back in November, twice in December, January, and needs it again thanks to water oaks that shed their leaves a little at a time :annoyed:

    Amen

    Good morning everyone!!!

We got 5" of snow yesterday - plowed it off about 1 in the afternoon. Wet and heavy. Ok, I am really ready for summer, now. Still enjoying the Cub Cadet UTV, though. Much better than being out in the cold on my old Yamaha ATV.

Off to the retinal specialist this morning for a recheck on my left eye. Seems to be OK at this point - no changes in vision over the week. This getting old stuff sucks....but it beats the alternative.

    Stay safe and warm!!

    Morning.
    Doc says heart is strong.
A1C not so much. Ticked up more this winter
    I kinda know why.
    Happened the past 2 years.
To me seems like I was fighting something during this time period.
Last week or so coming back down.
Time to change it up a little.
    Recheck in 3 months.
I’ll be able to tell in a couple of weeks if it is back in my more normal area.
    @ImpulseRed008
    We talked about the shot.
One problem is if I get the shot I can’t get the vaccine for 2 or 3 weeks after.
If they call me I’ll miss my chance.
So I’ll wait until after I get the vaccine and schedule then.
It wasn’t a issue scheduling it.
    She just waits until 65.

Good Morning folks. As Mark (@Devious6 ) said, MORE snow up home. I just hope everyone is safe.

Glad the chill from the vaccine didn't last Sue. The stories going around are that the shot affects people differently. My DIL works for a hospital and has gotten both shots. First shot she had no problem, but second shot she had the chills and ached all over but only for a day. Hope you are good with the second shot:fingerscrossed::thumbsup:.
Hope everything turns out good at the retinal guy Mark.
Keep an eye on your health Mike, you need to be here and enjoy your retirement:).
As always folks, be safe and be careful.

I have an attachment for an Echo leaf blower that works really well for cleaning out the gutters. I also have a 21 year old son that knows how to use said leaf blower. ;)

 If it is any consolation Oak trees provide food for around 500 insects which the native birds and small mammals feed on. If you enjoy watching native birds thank the oak tree. Stay warm down there.

:( I "HAD" lots of oak trees, then the Gypsy moths killed most of them, they did make a leaf mess, but like Tom said, they did provide for a lot of critters.

    Good morning all

procedure day today. Nothing serious, just working on my sinuses so I can breath better. To many collisions at home plate when I was younger. This is the third procedure and hopefully the last.
No snow last night and just another COLD sunny day.

    Have a great day!
