Toyota just imitates the segment leader (Ford), without thinking any better.

I see one of those around town now and then. Always thought that was a better front end compared to Nissan’s version.

The rear door windows kill it for me.

Well, once it comes out it might just be the best looking truck in person. Pictures can be unflattering.

That is the 2018 tailgate not the 2015 fyi the F 150 was added to the tailgate in 2018 so the Tacoma stamp in the tailgate was copied by Ford

I Wonder if it will be any more capable off-road. You need to lift the current gen frontier to get the same clearance numbers the taco has. Interior still looks cheap but let’s be honest they’re basically worse quality Toyota’s, that’s why you can find them so cheap.

True, but Ford was already stamping F250s tailgate prior that, they just went ahead and did it on F150s too.

Regardless, I think all brands copy each other in some aspect.

thats probably why the taco has horrible seating...low seating/high floor for ground clearance...i'm sure the frontier is not far off

The Taco I purchased and Frontier I drove did not have that issue. However, it had a different issue that explains why it didn't have that issue. I am 5'11" and I am pretty sure that someone over 6' 3" would have a problem sitting in my Taco. My head can't be more than a few inches from the headliner. So that may explain the better seating position. I also have the premium package with leather interior and sun roof(which I don't like) and that may have made a difference.

Yes the sunroof takes away about 2" of headroom. The 3rd gen Taco's cab structure is carried over from 2nd gen, which wasn't designed with a sunroof. I like the Taco's seating position though, more car-like with your legs laid out in front.

Dam sunroof. My wife likes it though. Seats are very comfortable.
