Anyone know someone near phoenix who can do a full rebuild on my rear shock that doesn't involve the 5 week lead time that fox takes? 5 weeks would basically kill off the rest of the time Phoenix has with perfect weather.

I foil taped off the cubby holes to prevent the ingress, but I haven't run it in a while. I know durability is the most common concern, and part of why I wish I had made a cased model.

I think in the future I'm going to try and find one of those gravity showers with the long black tube thing. Simplicity is key in my opinion

Guru Suspension / Tucson endurance & performance does a great job down here in the Tucson area. They rebuilt my fork a couple months ago and it's WAY better than the last shop I had do it

    Yessir, it's a LowPro3.

    Nice choice!

Thanks for the kind words! I'm not quite retired yet, but my wife and employers allow me wander the countryside from time to time.

Just put the shock in the mail. Guy said he'd have it back to me in less than 2 weeks including shipping and he's even gone this weekend for some race in NV. Definitely beats the 5 weeks Fox would take.

On the note of a potential Southwest meetup: When would you guys think? late March-mid April depending in location could be perfect for weather.

Nah man, its just the people are full of nasty juices.

And having axle grease on your hands day 2 of a 5 day trip really sucks.

    Toolbox progress.

Really disappointed in the kaizen foam to be honest. The layers are really mushy which is kinda nice to keep stuff in, but the layers dont peel off crisply and individually like I hoped.

I've got my crank brothers multi-tool, a shock pump, and a handheld tire pump. After that I hand off to the shop. Chain lube and sealant I do as well.

Not entirely bike related but bike camping related: What do you guys use to monitor voltage so you don't drain your battery? Want the freedom to run some stuff off the bed outlet but obviously don't want to leave myself stuck with a dead battery.

A big ass deep cycle group 31 battery. I dont use the bed outlet. I use a blue sea 12v outlet set I installed for the fridge that also does usb.

I can use my camp lights, fridge, etc for 2-3 days before I need to start the truck. Jump pack behind the sea just in case.

Where in your build thread might I find more detail on this setup?

Gotcha! So that system is what? A 2.5 inch lift? with just under 32 inch tires?
Do you like the look and ride of it?

I have a house battery to run camping accessories, but both batteries are hooked up to one of these. https://www.amazon.com/SunnyTrip-Al...ords=12+volt+usb+outlet&qid=1612926955&sr=8-8

King OEM coilovers. Roughly 2.5 lift. The ST maxx tires are oversize so they measure in at exactly 32. Handles everything I need.
