Oh hell, you're giving me flashbacks. The day before I was originally set to close the loan company "reevaluated" and decided they could not offer me a loan after all. Pretty amazed I ultimately got the house at all, but fuck them

 

Just wait til you actually close on the house when they hand you a stack of papers full of legal mumbo jumbo for you to sign your life away. The fun part hasn’t even started yet..

Currently on track to pay off in less than ten years total because I was the nerd that actually read through the contract. That was also the day my signature devolved into a loop and a scribble

I bought mine, refinanced after 4 years to get rid of PMI (loan terms required 80% LTV AND minimum 5 years PMI so had to refi to remove it). Went from a 30 year loan to 15 and the payment went up like $50

Then I sold the house a year later for about 30% more than i bought it for.

 

My issue was buying a house without a credit score. Not bad credit, but it's something I've chosen to avoid. Despite being completely up front from the beginning, it was suddenly a surprise at the end

 

Very similar. Refinanced after two, note went up minimally. Haven't sold, but I'm paying double my monthly note to get rid of the loan.

Everything is dependent on a credit score these days. It’s pretty annoying, especially how much little things can swing it. Mine gets dinged because i don’t have an installment loan..

 

It sure is cuz there’s no history. If you have bad credit you are still predictable. No credit is a shot in the dark.
