Well, it's not whisky. A friend has a kumquat tree that really produces so we got a bag full. What to do? Make a kumquat version of lemoncello! Everclear and the skin will sit for a month, then the infused juice will get mixed with simple syrup, cooked, then sit a while more. First time trying this...

Sooo good. I do like 1920 better but really enjoy this one. I have a place by my house that has it for 59, if you’d ever like me to pick you up one. TW by my brother in laws has it for 45.

That was my problem with it, just too sweet. I think I’ve seen it on here, you can mix it with something to make it “better”

Check out lemonchelo recipes and substitute your citrus of choice. Kumquat peel is sweet while the pulp/inside is sour/tangy, so I only wanted to use the peel.

1910 is one of my favorites. Not high proof so I don’t need to sit and ponder on it. I do enjoy 1920 also, but they are in totally different categories.

Our liquor cabinet, in addition to my brown liquor, (unfortunately) holds wine, champagne and non-liquid items and I've long ago maxed out the space. I do have sections based loosely on continent (scotch, US bourbon/rye/whiskey, Nippon and Irish) but with bottles scattered here and there I haven't kept up with the organization. Decided today to do a bit of housekeeping. I really like Japanese and when I see a bottle I like that hasn't been jacked up in price I grab it. But that doesn't happen very often, so I don't tap into those bottles on a regular basis. But after the reorg I found I am awash in some of my favorites, so I say, For a good time, make it a Suntory time! Tonight it's Yamazaki. Hai!

This bottle is absolute garbage, imo. I have a nearly full bottle of it.

BUT that's a great price if you like it.
