I haven't been there since they added the moguls...probably a good 3 years or so.

Fall/early winter update: It's been a hell of a late summer/fall for me and my vehicles. Finally finished the camper (just realized I never posted any camping pictures), tubbed for 37s, regeared to 5.29, picked up a newer version of the WARfab rear bumper from @In4aride, sold my 370Z and bought a 1995 F350 (on the same day) to tow it around with. Parts and pieces of this allowed me to go on an awesome week long camping trip that started with dragging my heavy truck through Calamity in Montrose, and ended with 5ish days of tooling around in the San Juan range. Then I took a quick weekend trip to Moab with some mostly stock tacos (zero skids/sliders/bumpers) which involved some laid back trails like Fins 'n Things and Hells Revenge (got to drive escalator this time so that was fun). After that trip I bought the Ford and started some work on it (all new wheel bearings/seals/brakes, tie rods/drag link/track bar, added an intercooler, wheels/tires, aesthetic stuff like grill/headlights that aren't pitted). For my second trip to Moab this year, I threw the taco on a trailer and hauled it to Rock Therapy to meet with @In4aride and @CGoss who both made me feel a little less crazy as they both towed out there as well. We ran Pritchett Canyon, which has been on my list for a while, but I never really though about doing until talking with Mike and Chris about it last year. I was pleasantly surprised with how well the truck performed out there without a front locker. However, that has made its way to the top of my list (directly followed by beadlocks) as there were a couple obstacles that Mike and Chris were able to drive (they are locked in the front) that I had to pull cable on. After the truck survived Pritchett, I decided to see if I could jump it higher this year than I did last year (I think I succeeded). Being that I wasted a bunch of money on compression adjusters for my shocks, one might think that I would use them (crank them all the way up, as I usually leave them fully open) when I am tooling around in the dunes, but no, I forgot. This resulted in some of the coolest pictures I have gotten of my truck, where Mike and I jumped next to each other. It also resulted in my aftermarket body mount ripping holes in my frame, as well as my truck joining the camber gang. I'll eventually pull it into the garage and assess any suspension damage (my upper ball joints were already on the way out, and my coilovers already leaked a good portion of the fluid out) but for now it drives decent and usually makes a good street ornament in front of my house since it isn't my daily anymore. Anyways I need to rebuild/replace the fuel bowl, and replace the glow plugs on the Ford. Also need to plate/reinforce my body mounts, install my new WARfab rear bumper, fix whatever suspension issues I created, and put the finishing touches on the camper for my Tacoma. It's a never ending cycle. @In4aride recently bought an old 7.3 as well, so I'm sure he is excited to have another project lol. I'll dump a bunch of photos in here later (maybe tonight, maybe in a month) but I'm currently on a computer and don't have them downloaded off my phone.

    Great build, truck looks great.

Have you looked into going to 63's or spring under axle for the rear, you have lots of droop now so not sure its needed.

Should post of couple of the jump pics of the calendar, def worthy.

Thanks man. Spring under is a no go for me, as that reduces ground clearance by about 4” on the outer edge of the axle tubes. I considered a Chevy 63 swap, but have seen a ton of people bending/snapping springs. Proper limit straps and set up would avoid that, but it wouldn’t really gain me any travel over my current set up

Gotcha, I see some people do it and others don’t so had to ask. I carry/tow a bunch with mine and the hd dakars I’m not happy with but I have started talking to Alcon to see what they can do.

If you carry and town a lot then I definitely wouldn’t do the 63s. Usually they are either too soft for that, or with the extra leaf too stiff to flex well on a taco

This is an awesome build..seriously! And you actually get out and wheel it.

How many CV's and/or Tie rods have you broken? Rack and pinions? Lol! I am not super familiar with Toyota suspension but it looks like you are still just running stock width?

Lol my dumb ass took a whole minute to even remember what I did that was new  the truck hasn’t moved since I put it on. I’ll snag some pics when it’s light out. Oh and mike you’ll be interested to see this, the old one is going to make its way onto my roommates 4th gen 4Runner... not sure how much of it will be left, but he’s determined to make it happen haha

Well due to all the free overtime I work, this week I’m supposed to get off at 3 everyday and have Friday off... so I’ve been leaving at 5:30. If I get home before the sun is down and/or actually get Friday off then I’ll take the truck out and snag some pics.

yeah the width looks great, he’s just going to have to redo the whole mounting parts

And apparently I was too tired to finish reading your post haha. No rack and pinion breakage and I am running stock width. SPC upper control arms and stock lowers

    WoW!?
I've tweaked LCAs, spindles and skipped my rack or tooth or two, front frame horns tweaked. Plus somehow took out my clock spring or whatever cable that is. No VSC or LS currently.
But, I'm only "34s". 6mt+5.29s. I've had to bump a few ledges to pop em. Its always the passenger side I tweak....
edit: Most recent was climbing the waterfalls for TotW without stacking.

Oh I’m not saying I haven’t messed up my fair share of crap haha. I don’t have VSC, TC, and my airbag light is on. Frame horns are bent, collapsed body mounts, bent drive shaft, bent LCA mounts, blown ball joints, and my front clip is basically hanging on by a thread haha. But the 37s in a way help me not break things. The obstacles that people on 33-35s have to bump I can sometimes crawl, which is easier on the truck

I hear you on that. I was interested in Marlins LT kit when announced. Well..... ya.
So I’m just saving up for a JD Fab kit. Hopefully he’ll have the 3rd gen rack setup soon.
    Then it’s 35 or 37s for me.

If you want to wait for the marlin kit, He said it’s ready for production, so I’m sure people will start to receive them in 5-6 years. All joking aside, I am interested to see how that kit does when actually wheeled, not just slithering around on the rubicon. Same with the JD kit, he seems to really be a desert guy, so I’m interested to see how that stuff holds up in the rocks

Well, some big changes are coming over the next few years. I’m going to try to keep the truck in a driveable condition between parts of this. I’ll really start tearing into it here in a couple months when I move into my new house
